Brrr! I don’t know about where you live but her in New York it’s FREEZING! I can’t drink coffee all day but love to sip on something warm. So I have been making my delicious turmeric hot cocoa and thought I would share this simple recipe with you.
Health Benefits of Turmeric
Turmeric is a spice that increases the anti-oxidant capabilities of your body, which protects your body from free radicals and helps fight inflammation and diseases. If you have less inflammation you will have less aches and pains, too. Besides its long-term benefits, you will feel better if you include turmeric in your diet. Curcumin, the main active ingredient in turmeric, helps your body fight foreign invaders and also has a role in repairing damage.
Tumeric has as been used for thousands of years by the Chinese to cure pain like nausea, arthritis, headaches, menstrual cramps and muscle soreness. Adults can take 400 to 600 mg of turmeric extract three times per day or as directed. So this anti-inflammatory drink is the perfect hot sipping elixir.

Note: Curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. So a little tip is to always consume it with some black pepper, which contains piperine, a natural substance that enhances the absorption of curcumin by 2,000%! Therefore, add a dash of pepper to any recipe that calls for turmeric for this very reason.

I’m always looking for ideas for warm beverages in the winter. Thanks!
You’re welcome. Hope you like it. I am sipping it now!
Interesting idea! I have been drinking turmeric tea daily. I am not sure I feel any change but it’s good!
This is a little more decadent. An “adult” hot cocoa!
Thank you. I just made this and found it delicious. Only change I made is that I melted the butter and fried the turmeric and black pepper for a few seconds before adding the other ingredients. Frying the turmeric makes the potency and health effect of the turmeric ( in combo with the freshly grounded black pepper) even stronger.
Love that! I will try it your way. So glad you loved the recipe!
