According to today’s WWD, even though retailers may be worried about the economy and Wall Street’s woes…the arrival of spring fashions is offering some hope. Accordingly, so far this season, shoppers are going for printed dresses, classic styles and bright trenches.

Here are some spring front runner favorites:

Why: "Trenches are hot," said a spokeswoman. "This one has classic trench styling with patent leather contrast trim, oversize buttons and clean styling."

Why: "The colorblocking is very fresh on an otherwise simple silhouette," said a spokeswoman. "It is flattering on all body types."

Why: "Bold prints and bright colors are both great for spring and are something we have become known for," said Tory Burch. "The Melanie dress is a perfect example. It is a classic Sixties silhouette that is timeless and will never go out of style."
