In the month of October to tie in with World Food Day on October 16, Michael Kors will launch a limited-edition watch, a video shot by National Geographic featuring Halle Berry, a United Nations World Food Programme field visit sweepstakes and an in-store T-shirt giveaway. Watch Hunger Stop was established last year and with every 100 Series watch sold, 100 children in a hunger stricken area receives a meal and Kors will also donate $25 to WFD.
Brown Joining Donna Karan
Caroline Brown announced that she was stepping down as president at Carolina Herrera at the end of the year to take on a new job. Inside sources believe she will take the position of Executive Officer of Donna Karan International, taking over Mark Weber’s role. DKI’s parent, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, has been searching for Weber’s successor for some time.
Alexander Wang H&M Campaign Revealed
The campaign for Alexander Wang’s collaboration with H&M includes hockey sticks, boxing gloves and real athletes. Photographer Mikael Jansson was the mastermind behind the camera and photographed athletes Andy Carroll, Rivaldino dos Santos and models Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana and Natasha Poly. “We wanted to take certain elements of each sport and portray the ultimate warrior,” Wang said. “The girls had to feel big and heroic, and Mikael used sunlight glares to heighten that effect against a stark white backdrop.” The print ad will be in monthly magazines starting today and a TV commercial airing on October 30 ans in online film. The collection will be in H&M stores on November 6.
