Christopher Bailey for Burberry
Christopher Bailey has been announced Burberry’s new Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer along with Director of the company. Back in October, Burberry announced that Bailey would be taking on his new positions following Angela Ahrendts’ departure as CEO. Ahrendts has left the company because of a new position as Senior Vice President of Retail and Online Stores for Apple. Burberry describes Bailey’s position, “with overall responsibility for creating and delivering the next chapter in Burberry’s global vision and business strategy.”
Karl Lagerfeld Expands in Dubai
Karl Lagerfeld is headed to Dubai to reveal his latest cruise collection for Chanel on May 13, will also be looking for boutique spots for his signature brand. Lagerfeld BV signed a five year deal with Dubai based Chalhoub Inc. that calls Lagerfeld to open 10 Karl Lagerfeld stores and 15 shops in shop by 2018. The first two shops in shop and first stand alone boutique are due to open next month and will showcase the spring collections.
Lilly Pulitzer and Hank Panky Collaboration
Lilly Pulitzer and Hank Panky will collaborate on a new lingerie line for spring 2015. The creative director of Hank Panky, Gale Epstein, explains, “It’s an exciting collaboration because it merges two companies known for bright colors and prints. It will be a collection tailored to excite both cult followings with iconic Lily Pulitzer prints and Hanky Panky’s bestselling lingerie styles.” The line will feature 11 styles including undies and also daytime wear such as camis. The pieces will retail between $28 to $92, and will debut in August.
