Adidas StellaSport
Stella McCartney and Adidas Debut StellaSport
Adidas StellaSport, a new athletic line aimed at a younger audience, launches January 15th. The apparel, accessories and shoes can be worn for working out or on the streets. StellaSport features bolder colors and a lower price point than the Adidas by Stella McCartney collection, which is about to celebrate its ten-year anniversary. “It takes the Stella girl from the campus to the club and finds a link in sport and technology without sacrificing style. There are signature moments, like our new self-laced sneakers, that give individual personality. These pieces are designed to complement your life and be totally realistic that fashion and sport technology are here to stay as a huge part of our life and wardrobes, and this is the attitude we are shouting about,” said McCartney. The collection will be available on Adidas’ website, as well as at Topshop and Nordstrom.
More Changes at NYFW
Many already know that starting in September, the runway shows and presentations move from Lincoln Center to a new undisclosed “downtown” location. It has just been announced that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will officially change its name to New York Fashion Week, following the departure of Mercedes-Benz as the title sponsor. In addition, WME-IMG, which owns Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, will acquire Made Fashion Week, a rival event. IMG’s exit from Lincoln Center was reportedly a long time coming. There are also industry rumors that NYFW won’t have one traditional title sponsor moving forward.
Cara Delevingne Now a Contributing Editor
Model and actress Cara Delevingne is now a contributing editor at Condé Nast’s Love Magazine. She has appeared in the fashion glossy several times and is close to editor in chief Katie Grand. In a statement, Grand said she has “always known that [Delevingne is] an exceptionally bright, sharp and hilarious young woman. That’s why I was so keen to let her have this chance to exercise her skills as a journalist and writer. And she has proven herself to be a fearless interviewer, never afraid to ask all the questions we want to know the answers to.” Delevingne’s first task will be to guest-edit the upcoming spring 2015 issue, which hits newsstands on February 9th. The model said she “loved the experience of being on the other side, asking the questions and having more directive control.”
