Runway To Real Way: Emerald City Awaits! Deep Green Pieces for 2015

Runway To Real Way: Emerald Green
Happy New Year! It’s a whole new year and a whole new chance to reinvent your wardrobe and even try one or two of the seasonal trends you’ve been eyeing. For us, winter is a celebration of rich jewel tones and our favorite for this year is deep emerald green. If the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala, isn’t your bag, emerald is a fresh and festive hue that proves the lifeline of wintery green lives long beyond Christmas.
One of the most popular silhouettes in the Fall 2014/Winter 2015 season was the over-sized jacket. Christian Siriano, who’s entire Fall/Winter collection was awash in the forest-y hue, featured a fabulous faux fur confection that had us dreaming in green. That’s why we were thrilled to finBy Zoe’s Makena Coat, an amazing budget-friendly option in a similar on trend shape.
Nothing makes a style statement that’s both subtle and bold, than a monochromatic sheath dress. Carmen Marc Valvo chose emerald for the chic, swinging dresses in his Fall/Winter collection. For a suitable, daytime-friendly option, the Emerald Sweater Dress from Shoptiques can easily be slipped on under a cardigan or blazer for the office and removed for after work cocktails.
If a sheath isn’t in your style agenda, a pencil skirt is equally as chic and elegant with the added value of mixing and matching separates. Derek Lam paired a sexy number with a high slit with a leather bomber and booties. The look can easily be created for work or play with Shoptiques Front Panel Pencil Skirt, which grazes the knee appropriately while still providing a sleek, body-con shape.
Finally, what guide to an emerald green trend guide would be complete without a perfectly viridian pair of pants. Christian Siriano played with different shades of vert on his Fall/Winter runway, and offered up a polished pair of pleated leather pants. As a little bit lighter shade in the green color wheel, the pants complement perfectly with the darker shade of the other pieces. These Stretch Wool-blend Tapered Pants from Jason Wu is surprisingly affordable, and can easily be transitioned into spring. Take a quick trip to emerald city this season to freshen up your winter wardrobe!
