The Alternative Smokey Eye

Black and grey smokey eyes are timeless and great for winter, but kick things up a notch by trying olive greens and golden browns to create the alternative smokey eye. Capture the looks of Jason Wu, Roberto Cavalli, and Burberry with these easy to follow tutorials.
Jason Wu Emerald Eye
After priming the eyes, set the shape for the eyeshadow bye using a dark brown base color with red undertones. Create a flair the extends beyond the eye using the shadow. Over top, lay a dark shimmery emerald color for a burst of dimension. Finish the look off with hunter green kohl liner and black mascara.
Roberto Cavalli Colorful Eye
Using jewel tones, start by applying a shimmery green to the lid. Lay an electric purple color in the corner of the eyes and a grey/brown matte color in the outer corners. Bring it all together with flecks of gold shadow in the inner corner of the eyes and in the center of the lid.
Burberry Brown Smokey Eye
More refined than the rest, use a mix of bronze and brown colors to create the Burberry Fall 2012 signature look. Sweep a golden color over the lid and blend out using a darker oak shade. Bring the color under the eye and lastly, apply a fresh coat of mascara.
