Nothing says spring more than butterflies. While I’m not as wild about them as Mariah Carey, I have noticed butterflies are this year’s flower. They are everywhere in fashion! From shoes, to bags, to dresses, butterflies are free to fly.
Here are just a handful ways to add some colorful butterfly wings to your life.
Today is not only Good Friday, it’s National Fragrance Day! So of course I had to do a little research on some of the hottest fragrances for Spring/Summer ’16. Now keep in mind, I’m a little biased when it comes to perfumes. I don’t like anything cloyingly sweet, woodsy or really heavy. If the description says it has notes of “patchouli” I run screaming in the other direction.
My perfume preferences, especially when it comes to the warmer months, are light florals, clean greens and fruits. Oh and I’m a sucker for roses, which you will see by my selections. Hopefully at least one of these picks will be of interest.
If the the thought of spending $3,000+ on a designer bag seems frivolous to you, or simply out of your range, the hot bag trend of the moment is the miniature version of your favorite designer bags. As long as you don’t need to carry a ton of things (it never looks good to have your bag look overstuffed) or just want to use it for evening many of these nano or doll-size versions of popular handbags come in at well under $2,000.
Believe it or not I’ve actually been asked what I carry in my makeup bag. Probably because it’s usually jam packed or it could just be idle curiosity. Now keep in mind these are the items I carry everywhere with me. What I use on a daily basis to have my makeup ready is for another post – another time.
One item you will want to add to your closet (or dig out in my case) is a denim pencil skirt. Some may say this trend is retro and they would be right. I think of the 70’s version my babysitter’s wore that were jeans re-purposed into a long skirt. I thought it was so cool. At any rate, today’s denim pencil skirt is a slim-fit skirt that’s all shades of denim blue, white or black and can be a midi length to just above the knees.
