Wearable Trends: Prairie Chic

Yes, you read that correctly, we are taking it to the countryside this month with the super-hot prairie chic trend for the spring. Yes this can be a difficult style to pull off if you are over 35 (frankly, I don’t think I’ll be sporting this trend this year). However, this trend does have a playful and comfortable vibe that can span all ages if you keep it classy.

Wearable Trends: The Classic Camel Coat

This month I want to get serious…. but keep it fun, because fashion is supposed to fun, right? This month I want to focus on a trend I wouldn’t necessarily call “trendy” but it’s a classic and it’s ALWAYS in style. Regardless of the style, color or textile you decide to go with, the look of a cape draped over your shoulders is an instant elevation to your look.

We were on the verge of trend overload. The Narciso Rodriguez New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 collection was thankfully void of all the expected spring trends that have been ever-present on the runways this past week. Not to say those trends are not appreciated and coveted by the fashion masses, however there was an understated elegance and simplicity that graced Rodriguez’s stage that was truly timeless. If you were to look at his collection 20 years from now or 20 years ago, you wouldn’t be able to put a date stamp on these looks; just as impeccably designed clothes should be
