Now that we’ve rung in the New Year in our party dresses, sparkly shoes and bright baubles, the reality is starting to set in that there is nothing left to celebrate and the deep throes of winter are upon us. We’ve still got another three months of cold weather to get through and even though this time of year can be gloomy, that doesn’t mean we can’t look fabulous as we trudge through the inclement weather. Thankfully, we haven’t seen much snow or sleet so far this winter, but it’s bound to make an appearance any day now and when it does, you need to be ready with your stylish snow boots!
I remember when I was a kid and those ugly moon boots were the only things we had to wear in the snow…OK, maybe not the only thing, but options were limited. Now with so many choices out there that offer both fashion and function, you can choose whether you want to look like Nanook of the North or a chic hipster goddess. I must admit that my favorite type of snow boots are ones with genuine shearling – UGG boots I’m looking at you! They may not be much to look at but boy are they WARM. However, my personal style has evolved and even though I’m sticking with shearling, I like a sleeker and more sophisticated silhouette which is also being offered by UGG and like brands.
If you are not into shearling or fur to keep your feet toasty and dry, there also are other options that keep it simple like these Bog’s Quilted Snow Boots or these Merrell boots. There’s no shame in upping your snow boot game this year. Especially when you live in a part of the country that gets snowy weather. Once it starts to fall here in Chicago, I practically live in my snow boots so they better be comfortable, warm and look good! Check out my selection of stylish pairs in stores now and happy shopping!
