Transitioning your spring pieces to summer looks when the weather heats up can be a challenge, especially if you live somewhere where summer is scorching.
Easy Spring to Summer Style Switch
There are a few ways to make things simpler, however, and one that doesn’t involve adding layers or even a ton of shopping. By making a few edits or adjustments to your spring looks, you can easily roll things into summer.
First Step: Footwear
Shifting to sandals, mules, or low-profile sneakers is the first step (see what we did there) to changing seasons. Go for something graceful like these Linea Paolo Mary Jane flats or open and strappy like these DV Dolce Vita gladiators, and build your summer look from the ground up.

Summery Jewelry
Adding a fun piece of jewelry that has a summery feeling is an easy update, and a great way to make the tees and tanks you’ve been wearing all spring feel new. Seashells and other natural materials are trendy at the moment, so channel your inner mermaid with a nautilus shell pendant (Etsy has tons of great options). Or go for lush floral earrings, like these from Adornia that lend some visual impact to an outfit, but are lightweight and comfortable to wear.
Lighten It Up
Hang up your darker pieces and mix in some lighter neutral shades, or go all white, cream, or carmel-colored for summer. Even the same items look and feel more summery when done in a softer colorway, like this two piece set in a warm caramel shade (versus a more basic black or navy).
Alter The Length
Swapping your long sleeves for tanks or full-length pants for shorts or ankle crops like this linen-blend pair from Banana Republic Factory takes a look from spring to summer nicely. Summer Nail Color

Brighter Lip Color
