Planning on getting some winter sun or heading off on an island escape this season? If so, we’re jealous. If not, you can still take the latest resort trends and distill them into outfits you can wear anywhere, right now.
Resort collections often preview the colors, silhouettes and styling ideas that carry into spring and summer — which makes them surprisingly useful for planning what to wear now. Many of these pieces layer easily with items you already own, making resort fashion less about vacation packing and more about fresh, wearable outfit inspiration for the season ahead.
Here are some of our favorite resort trends for 2026, whether you have a vacation planned or not.

Pajamas For Daytime
Matching sets made of flowy silk or crisp cotton with traditional menswear silhouettes are ideal for actually being at a resort, or just a casual-ish evening at home—and this Farm Rio tiger print top and pants set could work for both.

Natural Textures
Think raffia, natural linen, straw, and other lightweight materials. While you might need to wait till spring to bring them out, something like these Mansur Gavriel ballet flats are breezy enough for the beach but structured enough for spring and summer in the city (or suburbs, as the case may be).

Ocean Blues
Tropical ocean blues and sea glass shades like this flowy ruched dress from Desigual are perfect if you’re by the sea — or just dreaming of it. And while you might not be wearing breezy little dresses if you’re not chasing the sunshine, you can still bring the color palette into your winter wardrobe with light blues and turquoise tones that all happen to pair nicely with browns, grays, and of course, black.

Utility But Not Utilitarian (or Athleisure)
Sporty styles that are functional but also super chic popped up in plenty of resort collections. They’re meant to be worn for everyday (not just the gym) but are a bit more put together than athleisure pieces, like these matte satin Lululemon cargo pants.

Drama at The Back
Dresses or tops with back cutouts or details ensure you look great from all angles. This shirtdress from Banana Republic offers a subtle and surprising bit of skin showing in the back — and the cutout is thoughtfully placed so you can still wear a regular bra.

Polka Dots
A little playfulness never hurt anyone, and a polka dot tee like this one from ASOS is an easy way to brighten up your wardrobe at a time of year when you likely need it. Wear it with denim or your favorite casual pants now, and with shorts or a skirt in warmer weather.

Handkerchief Hems
Uneven layered hemlines that have a little floatiness and a lot of drama are showing up in stores, just in time for a winter escape before spring time. Or pick up this cozy Topshop skirt and tee set to wear this season—it would be lovely paired with knee boots and tights.
