Project Runway All Stars, Season 2 Episode 8: Flapper Fashion Face-Off. Memorable Quotes from Last Night's Episode.

With six contestants remaining, no one is safe this week in Project Runway All Stars. Carolyn Murphy calls for a 1920‘s inspire fashion face-off. This week was a game changer as opponents compete directly against each other in pairs under the themes of “Social Soriee”, “Garden Party”, and “After Hour Speakeasy.” Joshua and Emilio are paired together along with Anthony Ryan vs. Ivy and Uli vs. Laura Kathleen. It’s a battle of the blondes! Uli is thrilled about the challenge and is determined to continue embellishing her dresses while Laura Kathleen swears to stay away from the feathers and instead ops for fur. Ivy purchases an expensive beaded fabric at Mood and gets catty by rating Anthony Ryan’s look a five. Joanna Coles declares the room the most decadent and rich designs in All Star history.

Designers sit in their own Project Runway speakeasy on the runway with tables and drinks as they are introduced to guest judges, actress Gretchen Mol, and British designer Jenny Packham. Looks are shown in pairs to amp up the competitiveness. Joshua, Ivy, and Laura Kathleen take the bottom three slots as Uli, Anthony Ryan, and Emilio shine. Emilio’s dress is safe but a bit too elderly looking for the judges. In a fight for the embellishments, Anthony Ryan’s modern dress wins the challenge while Uli’s unique dress takes second place. Judges love Joshua’s fabulously shaped purple dress but fear that it is too safe. Ivy’s concept of the 1920’s was taken too literally but the chevron fabric made the look too heavy. In a shocking turn of events, Laura Kathleen’s purple pant suit was swept out by the competition.
