Project Runway All Stars, Season 2 Episode 3: Up Your Aerosol. Memorable Quotes from Last Night's Episode

Project Runway All Stars, Season 2 Episode 3 Designers
Round three in the Project Runway All-Star showdown. On this weeks episode, designers traveled to Long Island City to view the largest, legal collection of aerosol art in the world. I have to say, I was loving this challenge. It was the perfect twist between an unconventional challenge and a printmaking challenge. Each designer got 7 yards of white fabric to design and a quick lesson in graffiti techniques from the renowned artists Meres One, Sen2 and Zimad.
Carolyn Murphy
After designers played around with some (questionable) designs, (given graffiti is more difficult than it looks) they were give fifteen minutes and fifty dollars to hunt through mood for any other bits and pieces they might need to complete their looks. Back at Parsons, drama is began to unfold between Ivy and Laura Kathleen which lead to great impersonations by Kayne. Surprisingly, the drama was all on Laura Kathleen; Ivy was actually holding back (but hopefully not for long). The pressure was building and b**chy brawl was sure to strike. Joanna Coles entered the workroom to dish out sassy comments and put designers in their places, as always. Joanna loved Casanova’s piece in particular and questioned Kayne’s.
Judges Jeffrey Costello, Robert Tagliapietra, Isaac Mizrahi, Georgina Chapman and Carolyn Murphy
Along with the weekly judges, designers Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra joined the panel this week. The stiff fabric and colorful designs gave way to an endless line of shift dresses, but hey, who doesn’t love a good shift dress? Anthony Ryan’s twist on the classic silhouette took a top spot along with Emilio’s insane, fiery suit and Ivy’s “super girl” look. Judges commended Emilio on his bold choices by awarding him as this weeks all-star. His look was definitely fashionable art, but it would be interesting to see someone wearing that outfit on the street. Laura Kathleen’s confused dress, Suede’s tacky party dress, and Kayne’s frantic evening gown fell to the bottom with no surprise. While I liked the idea behind LK’s dress, frankly, the front green panel looked like up-chuck. Although, it wasn’t the worst. That spot went to Suede who was, thankfully, let go. Maybe now he and Wendy Pepper can pursue their friendship outside of the workroom! We can only dream.
