Designer Phillip Lim has already recently expanded his stylistic boundaries to include swimwear and lingerie, and now the designer has (thankfully) decided to turn to shoes. And already they're almost here! The 3.1 phillip lim fall 2009 footwear collection will debut at the end of this month though a specific date has yet to be released. Lim descries the aesthetic of his footwear styles as, "classic with a sense of madness." So far the preview images have included lace-up, masculine jazz shoes with a stacked wooden heel and dainty platforms in colors ranging from basic black to metallic gold. His ankle boots feature giraffe-print pony hair and
rich gray suede with silver-stud details. And the tall riding
boots in rich, soft, black leather is sure to become an instant staple for fall. In his previous runway shows, Lim has worked with footwear legends Christian Louboutin and Nicholas Kirkwood but turned the skills he gleaned from those masters into his own unique, wearable style. The shoes will be priced from $410-750 and will be available
at the 3.1 phillip lim flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles and
Tokyo.
