New York Fashion Week Spring '10. Toni Maticevski Experiments With Light & Dark.

Summary: Toni Maticevski was inspired by "a dark and beautiful place where things die and are born again". He accomplished this light/dark dynamic through the use of burnt tulle flowers, paint splash prints, curling vine details and sparkling crystal hairpins, along with a somber palette of mostly black, white and gray. The silhouette was layered: stretch tube skirts and body-tight tees covered by chiffon overlays or satin bustiers, often decorated with exploding tulle flowers as a bustle, on the shoulder or at the waist. The effect was somewhat haunted: dressed-up painted dolls unraveling in the breeze.

Color Palette: Gray, cream, black, ombre white, washed yellow, metallic.
