How Lisa Todd Wexley Is Redefining Fashion Over 50 on And Just Like That…

The verdict is still out on Sex and the City sequel And Just Like That.., but I have to say, I feel like it’s finally finding its footing. That’s thanks in no small part to Charlotte’s best friend, Lisa Todd Wexley, played by Nicole Ari Parker, and her fabulously bold, colorful fashion.

You heard that right. This isn’t a post on what I like about the reboot’s newest season — or what I don’t. I want to focus on the fashion-forward fearlessness of Lisa Todd Wexley.

Lisa’s wardrobe is a celebration of color, texture and fearless self-expression. She doesn’t dress to blend in. She dresses to be remembered. Her style is a reminder that fashion after 50 can be vibrant, daring and a clear reflection of the life you’ve earned.

Fearless Fashion Over 50

At 50, you’re not fading, you’re fully in bloom! And no one embodies this unapologetic vibrancy more than Lisa Todd Wexley in Season 3 of And Just Like That….

She doesn’t dress “for her age” — she dresses for her style, which is modern, fashion-forward, and entirely age-appropriate. For 50-year-olds, she is a reminder that maturity doesn’t mean fading into the background, it means owning the spotlight with sophistication and a flair for drama.

She isn’t afraid of color, silhouette, or eccentricity — and you shouldn’t be either. Let’s break down exactly why Lisa’s style should be every woman’s midlife fashion north star, through the very outfits below:

Tailoring Is the New Power Move

Lisa Todd Wexley in Badgley Mischka

In the first episode of season 3, Lisa wears a Tri-Colored Sheath Dress with Geometric Embroidered Print by Badgley Mischka. It’s sleek, architectural, and commands attention without screaming for it, a fine line that Lisa walks better than anyone.

Beyond the colors and prints, one of the unspoken secrets of Lisa’s style is tailoring. Every look is perfectly fitted —  nipped at the waist, cut at the right ankle, structured to accentuate the silhouette. For women in their 50s, a focus on fit (rather than trends) is the surest way to look expensive and empowered.

The dress speaks for itself, but that necklace is in a world of its own! I love that the character is a huge fan of oversize jewelry. This one is the Thai Necklace of Seven Large Round Interlocking Cane Bands by Pebble London.

Bold Prints Are a Statement, Not a Risk

Also in the first episode of the season, Lisa wears a gorgeous print blouse and pants set that turns heads. It’s the Carmela blouse and Kantuta pants in Malla print from De Loreta, a Peruvian brand known for rich, expressive textiles I love the combination of vivid stripes with graphic structure, not playful for playfulness’ sake, but bold with purpose. Lisa doesn’t apologize for going bold, and neither should you.

The look isn’t just colorful — it’s commanding. The crisp collar, voluminous sleeves, and symmetrical lines elevate it well beyond “fun.” It’s calculated elegance.

What makes it work? The balance. And I’m not talking about the matching pants (though if you want even more balance, you could even out the print with solid-colored trousers.) While the pattern is intense, the silhouette is refined. Lisa doesn’t rely on accessories to tone it down — she leans in. This is controlled maximalism at its best.

The Power of Contrast Dressing

Lisa Todd Wexley in vintage Dior

If you thought it couldn’t get any better — Lisa turns it up a notch in Episode 2, wearing a colorful striped blouse by vintage Dior with luxe Leto Cross-Over Waist Bermuda shorts by Theo the Label and an oversize Link Crochet necklace by Rabanne. Those sunglasses aren’t even my favorite of the look.

It’s a statement in contrasts and that’s exactly what makes it work. The blouse, with its balloon sleeves, pointed collar, and painterly stripe palette, nods to ‘70s glam, while the shorts add a contemporary urban edge. It’s a mix of refinement and rebellion — a buttoned-up top with attitude, and bottoms that say she’s not here to play it safe.

Color Blocking Isn’t a Trend, It’s a Mood

Lisa Todd Wexley in Cynthia Abila

In Episode 5, Lisa wears a striking color-blocked set from Nigerian label Cynthia Abila. The turquoise and saffron silk are handwoven, and the silhouette is tailored to perfection, structured but still fluid.

The saturated colors aren’t just fashionable — they’re powerful. This is how you do dopamine dressing without ever losing polish. Lisa wears color the way most people wear black: with full confidence.

Instead of leaning into quiet luxury, Lisa chooses loud sophistication. It’s not just refreshing… it’s contagious.

From electric blues to rich oranges, Lisa’s wardrobe is a masterclass in statement color blocking and rich textures: silks, satins, brocades, and fine tailoring. These choices flatter, energize, and elevate. Instead of neutral palettes that aim to “blend in,” Lisa’s style urges midlife women to stand tall and vibrant.

Also worn in Episode 5, Lisa’s blouse is the Kilimi Blouse in Athina by Rianna + Nina, a label known for bold, handcrafted pieces with global flair. It’s the epitome of boho luxury. Made from sheer, airy silk, the blouse floats with movement. The flowing cut and wide sleeves add softness and femininity, which Lisa balances perfectly with olive utility trousers and oversized sunglasses. It’s relaxed, yes, but also sharply styled, a reminder that elegance doesn’t need to be tight, tailored, or minimal. Sometimes, it just needs to feel lived-in and expensive.

Why it works at 50+? Boho isn’t just for Coachella. Lisa’s version swaps flower crowns for structured accessories and dark florals, proving this style can grow up and still thrive.
