Lisa Perry Debuts Her Splatter Collection In Support of Publicolor

Designer Lisa Perry has teamed up with Publicolor, a New York City based youth art organization for at risk youth, to create the capsule collection which is inspired by drip paintings made famous by American abstract artists. The collection launched November 14th and 20% of all proceeds from the sale of the Splatter collection will be donated to Publicolor. What is Publicolor? This youth art organization engages high-risk students, ages 12-21, in their education through a continuum of design-based programs and academic support that counter the dropout rate. Publicolor teaches the marketable skill of commercial painting and strong, transferable work habits. Publicolor’s goal is to stress the importance of education and prepare their students to be effective members of the workforce and their communities. Publicolor provides long-term and comprehensive youth development programs, including weekly career exposure and life skills workshops for our middle and high school students, and weekly one-on-one tutoring and mentoring sessions for our college students.

For this current collection, Lisa Perry, Ruth Lande Shuman (Founder and President of Publicolor) and local students collaboratively splattered the entire collection creating wearable art. Inspiration arose from drip paintings made famous by American abstract artists during the mid-19th century. The collection features multi-color apparel and accessories for both women and girls. Accessories, including placemats and duffle bags, range from $35-$395 and women’s tops and dresses  retail for $495-$1295. Beginning November 14, the collection will be available for purchase exclusively at the Lisa Perry Madison Avenue boutique and at lisaperrystyle.com. – Lauren Dimet Waters
