I visited Joseph Michael’s Salon nestled in the heart of the Gold Coast to experience the latest anti-frizz Kérastase treatment: The Kérastase Luxury of Time Treatment. I’m like so many women who battle frizzy hair, but my hair is fine so I never considered a smoothing treatment. However this one is different. It is not a Keratin treatment, although the salon does offer that as well. This new treatment has no formaldehyde or formaldehyde derivatives in the formula or when heat is applied. The Luxury of Time Treatment uses amino acids, wheat protein derivatives and Ceramide C instead.
Joseph Michael’s Salon has a laid back and relaxing atmosphere with a truly friendly staff. They offer a full range of salon and spa services. The space is large but has warm nooks and crannies, so it feels very private. My stylist for the The Kérastase Luxury of Time Treatment, Edwin Torres, styled at New York Fashion Week Spring 2015 for Thakoon and Zac Posen! So the time flew by because we chatted about Fashion Week, hair styles and trends… and this new Kérastase treatment.
I never met a Kérastase product I didn’t love, so I was completely confident with this treatment. It takes about an hour and a half, total. First Edwin washed my hair and then applied the Kérastase Disipline treatment with a brush. He then used a flat iron, not to style my hair, but to allow the heat to get into my hair and smooth the follicles. My hair was then rinsed out and he sprayed on a follw-up Kérastase Disipline product and styled! The treatment claims to give 33% faster, easier and longer lasting blowdrys for up to 21 shampoos and 72 hours of frizz-free hair.

And how did it last after the salon visit? My hair stayed smooth even on the first day (and it was rainy) and has been easy to style ever since. That’s why it is called “The Luxury of Time” treatment! It offered just what I always seek: smooth swingy hair without looking too ironed down or flat. I’m so happy!
