Kate Watch: Style Update – Canada Roundup

In anticipation of the royal couple’s U.S. arrival, let us recap Kate’s outfits for the past few days:

Kate dressed in full Canadian spirit for Canada Day in the same Reiss “Nanette” dress she wore for her engagement photo, red kitten heels and an enormous diamond maple leaf brooch from the royal collection. To top it all off, she wore a bright red fascinator adorned with Canadian maple leaves.

In the evening, she wore a rich purple Issa dress (similar style to the royal blue dress worn at the announcement of the couple’s engagement) with the same diamond broach from earlier in the day.

In Montreal, Kate started the day in Catherine Walker’s “Kensington” dress paired with Tabitha Simmons shoes. The dress featured short-cuffed sleeves, princess seaming, and a deep vee on the back with sharply angled lapels. Interestingly, Catherine Walker was a favorite designer of Princess Diana’s.

In Quebec City, the duchess wore an Erdem navy “Jacquenta” dress from the pre-fall 2011 collection. The dress was fitted, had three-quarter length sleeves, lace detail, and highlighted her tiny waist.

Kate landed in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, wearing a beautiful shell-colored Joseph shift dress and pale pink tweed jacket.

Next, she wore a cream Alexander McQueen sweater dress (we’ve seen it on Sarah Jessica before). The knit dress exuded a nautical feel, perfect for Canada’s smallest province and the picturesque setting.

Later in the afternoon, Kate changed into a navy trench coat, red scarf, flats, and pants to watch Prince William’s training demonstration.

In Yellowknife, Kate’s tree planting/hockey watching outfit consisted of a cream linen shift with shoulder pads by Danish-born British designer Malene Birger paired with those L.K. Bennett nude pumps she has frequented over the past few days.

Later in the afternoon, Kate slipped into her casual duds, sporting a pair of J Brand navy twill jeans, a button down olive blouse and Sebago Bela shoes.

On Will and Kate’s “personal day,” in Slave Lake, Alberta, Kate repeated the J Brands, but switched to a ruffled top by Malene Birger, her Smythe blazer, and LK Bennett wedges.

The royal couple sported adorable matching sweaters given to them by the Canadian Rangers in Blatchford Lake.
