Jump Into the TOMS Shoes: One Day Without Shoes Walk!

Be ready to join the TOMS Family on April 5 for the fourth annual TOMS Shoes: One Day Without Shoes campaign.

Two major walks will take place in NYC on the West Side Highway, and in LA on the Santa Monica Boardwalk with TOMS’ Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie. You can even do it yourself by going barefoot. Even if you can only do it for a minute, you can understand why the "One Day Without Shoes" campaign is such a success in its raising awareness in its cause.

The campaign promotes awareness of the impact that the lack of a pair of shoes have on a child's life.  Millions of children around the world grow up without shoes, at risk of infection and disease. TOMS Shoes was founded on the premise that with every pair of shoes someone purchases, a pair of new shoes will be given to a child in need. Last year, over 250,000 people went without shoes and over 1,600 events took place around the globe.

“The problem is large but the solution is simple.  Wearing shoes and basic hygiene can prevent both infection and disease due to unsafe roads and contaminated soil," Mycoskie said. "By imagining a life without shoes, we can all contribute to the awareness of these conditions, which is why we ask everyone to join TOMS on April 5 and participate in One Day Without Shoes.”
