Yes, we do want to dress 15 years younger, but just because you can wear just about anything certainly doesn’t mean you should. Lauren brought this photo of Jennifer Lopez on her 46th birthday to my attention and there was a simultaneous and resounding “ew” from both of us. This dress is too tight, too sheer – needless to say there are too many cut-outs and too much skin showing. Oh, I see now … her shoulders are covered, and I do like her clutch bag! We think her 28-year old boyfriend led her to believe it was A-OK to wear this dress. Yes, she is beautiful and does look fantastic for her age, so what should she have worn instead? This was actually quite fun! I can come up with a gazillion dresses which better suit JLo’s sexy style, but here are 5. If you’re in shape and over 40, you may be able to get away with these looks, too. My styling tip: Only wear one or 2 bordering-on-trampy elements at a time!
Herve Leger Crosshatch Bandage Sheath, $5190
This Herve Leger dress would look fantastic on Jennifer Lopez. It is tight enough (that’s how I would have to sell it to her) and has a deep V that is one of her signature looks. The bandages gives the appearance of sheer but it is really not (vulgar like she likes). The metallic shine and brilliant color make it a perfect party dress.
Altuzarra Monica Dress, $1,295
I like this sexy black dress for JLo (and anyone with fabulous dancer’s legs). This works because there are really only two revealing elements, the high slit skirt and the deep V. This dress proves little bit of skin goes a long way!

Donna Karan New York Ruched Stretch-jersey Dress, $1,795
I know Jennifer Lopez may not get too excited about this dress, because is it too long for her, but I would totally envy anyone who can wear this Donna Karan dress without Spanks. And JLo can!
Cushnie et Ochs Organza-paneled Stretch-ponte Dress, $1,495
Just in case she is not considering any of my other selections, this is about as far as I will go to get a look that JLo will like. Yes it has sheer panels and it is super tight, but the placement of the sheer panels is designed so much better than that atrocity she wore and the entire skirt is solid black. You can’t wear a bra, so I think she would go for it!
Issa Ness Belted Silk-georgette Dress, $625
This is the dress I would have loved to see Jennifer Lopez wear on her 46th birthday. It is loose and flowey but you can’t have a bad body to wear it. This will make her look 25 years younger. I wish I could convince her!
