The Way To Go High Low: The Perfect Patio Party Outfit

My desire to find covetable fashion pieces led me to this perfect patio party outfit for the season. I’m planning a margaritas couples wedding shower (yes my dear friend’s daughter is getting married!) I can’t believe I have reached “that age”! But that doesn’t mean I won’t dress up for the party!

Lately my wish list often starts with quality designer fashion that is on-trend yet sensible. OK, maybe not so sensible, but my first attraction was to this red metallic Gucci jacquard bag. Hear me out! Red bags are big this season, and this one will work year round which makes it a great investment. On the absolute lowest end of my selections, you can opt for this red “Aloha” clutch for $20. If buy this you will have enough money to purchase all the rest of my the high-end finds! Besides, chances are you won”t be carrying your bag around with you all night, but instead you’ll be holding a cocktail.

A beautiful pair of flare leg pants in ivory are sensible and are worth the investment like these by Roland Mouret. But if $1,230 is a bit too steep you can buy these Theory Wide Leg Pants for $295. When it comes to white or cream colored pants you won’t want to go too low on the quality and get a pair for $20 because the fit and drape are important. However, If you can find a pair that work for $20, go for it!

To top it off a black sleeve ruffle blouse is a great option to a bare summer top (this might not be the best look for women over 40). Go mid-high end with this RED Valentino Flutter Trim Blouse or pay about 90% less  on this ASOS sleeveless ruffle top.

How can you go wrong with a pair of slide block heel sandals? The heel height on these Prada Flower-Buckle Patent Leather Slide Sandals is perfect for looking taller and yet still being comfortable. Or save about $500 and get these Topshgop mules with an identical heel style. You may even like the white “bone” heel on these shoes better than the Prada pair. That’s the fun part of mixing high with low fashion, the choice is yours.

Sunglasses can be both functional and collectible. Do you have a pair of sky blue shades? Then you need them. This pair by Westward Leaning are so stylish and unique (and I think worth every penny of $225). Or if you loose your sunglasses a lot (like me) you can purchase these cat eye sunglasses from Topshop for only $30. But for some reason, I don’t know why this always happens, you will keep this pair in your collection forever!
