Vogue creative director Grace Coddington is getting in on the action by creating a capsule collection for Parisian luxury label Balenciaga. For this collection, Coddington has taken inspiration from her cat, Pumpkin.
Drawings of her feline donning Balenciaga looks from the past decade are featured on the ‘Pumpkin Papier’ tote bag, which also comes in ecru, and two scarves, according to The Cut. Apparently cats wear Balenciaga too.
Naturally, this being Balenciaga, the canvas tote is trimmed with calfskin and will retail at $1,000. That may seem like a lot, but keep in mind that it’s a limited edition, has drawings of cats by Grace Coddington, and 20% of all proceeds benefit the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons. This goes to show that there are animals that need to be rescued from everywhere – even the Hamptons. The scarves, which come in both silk and wool, will cost $395 for silk and $495 for wool.
The ‘Pumpkin’ collection will be available starting on Fashion’s Night Out at Balenciaga stores in Los Angeles and New York, where Grace Coddington will make an appearance at the event which goes from 6-9pm.
