Come winter there is nothing that warms me better than soup. I can’t get enough. I will buy soups but I prefer to make them myself so I know exactly what ingredients are being used. Even though this lemon and spinach lentil soup is vegan, I am not, but I know many who are so I find myself making this soup quite a bit.
Want to be the hit of every party or dinner you are invited to? Make this cake and I promise…mission accomplished! I first tried this cake after my Dad had died. I had no appetite and people kept dropping food off at my mom’s house. One of my mom’s friends made this cake and I was told I had to try it. I did and could not stop eating it! It’s that good. In fact, I think it was all I ate for 2 days.
My eldest son is the world’s pickiest eater. Yes, I know it’s a control thing – and it works. He eats about 5 foods at any given time and of course, he loves snacks. So on one of the kids’ more recent days off from school (do they ever go to school?) I took them to our local farmer’s market. They sampled some organic chicken burgers and Liam flipped over the Buffalo chicken wing flavored one. Woot! So I paid $20 for 12 patties and he ate them all within 2 weeks!
No I did not say “boujey” gifts, I said boozey as in gifts meant for the bar and they make prefect hostess gifts. You can visit other blogs to find food and “proper” hostess gifts, but here at Fountain Of 30 we like to stay preserved and booze helps! That’s how we roll. So here are some items that are perfect for any man or woman who loves a well stocked bar and wine fridge as much as we do!
I know there is a “National” Day for everything (did you know was National Watermelon Day?), but this is one I can get behind! It’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, August 4, 2016! I mean, who doesn’t love Chocolate chip cookies? That’s like not liking pizza. And that’s just crazy talk
Salmon and Pineapple Salsa is a delicious and beautiful summertime dish, fit for a special occasion or just to impress your family plus it’s really easy to make. I’m not much of a chef so trust me…if I can make it, anyone can! I even goofed up a few things. For example, I don’t own potato peeler for the cucumber ribbons, so I improvised. (No one would know and maybe you wouldn’t notice if didn’t point that out!) Luckily this recipe does not have to be made perfectly. The flavors are amazingly favorable, with a mix of sweet, tangy, salty and a little kick of chili pepper.
Sure, there will always be red and white wines but you can easily come back to those. Whenever you feel like champagne just might be a little too fancy for the occasion, there’s the one that always looks beautiful, smells like summer no matter what time of year, and tastes amazing. It’s the flowery, pink-y hued libation – rosè! And it’s everywhere this summer.
