Croc-Embossed Leather: The Luxe Fall Trend To Try Now

After taking a deep dive into fall trends for this year, there are quite a few that I’m excited about. Some are tried and true, many of which I’ve worn in the past. One of the trends that I’m most excited to wear is the croc-embossed leather trend. I love leather in the fall and winter. Depending on how you wear it, it almost always feels elevated, sophisticated and expensive. So, adding the super chic croc embossing to an already luxurious trend gets me so jazzed to up my leather game for this year. I want to highlight some wonderful pieces to try if you want to embrace the croc-embossed leather trend for fall.

Croc-Embossed Leather Jackets And Shirts

Donning a croc-embossed jacket or shirt is a great way to showcase this trend. Adding this as a topper piece to tie your outfit together or having it stand out in a special way is a wonderful way to style a jacket or top showcasing this trend. A structured blazer like this one from ASOS is an easy way to introduce croc-embossed leather into your wardrobe. I like this one because of the unexpected shapes of the front buttons, which are so playful and make a nice contrast to the rich brown leather.

If you like something more understated, you can get this cropped option from Mango. I love the distressed finish and the muted medium brown tone. I also really enjoy the timeless design of the single visible front button and the clean, pointed collar. This would be one I’d add to my closet immediately and probably wear forever. It’s a steal at $99.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you want a standout piece, you can try something like this red croc jacket from Sam Edelman. This upper-thigh-length option looks great with leg-lengthening bootcut or flare jeans and shorter skirts. The large tortoise shell buttons add even more of a bold flair. This jacket is for the fashion adventurous and is a showstopping piece!

Croc-Embossed Leather Pants And Skirts

I’ve had many variations of croc-embossed leather pants over the years, and I never get tired of them. A pair of black or brown embossed leather pants with a simple silky top and some oversized metal jewelry is one of my uniforms of choice for the fall and winter seasons. Now is a great time to restock on one of my closet staples, and I found a couple of nice options.

One of my favorite finds was these Ksubi Croc Leather Pants. The straight-leg cut provides a classic fit, but the contrast white stitching gives them a bit of an edge. A black pant like this lends itself well to anything in your closet, including comfy sweaters, blazers, graphic tees and structured button-front shirts. So, investing in an option like this will never leave you searching for something to wear.

I also found these studded faux leather pants if you are looking for something with more visual interest. I really like the studded details for adding even more texture to the pants. You would think with the croc-embossed leather and the studs, it would be overload, but this combination just works!

A leather skirt is also a closet staple for the fall season, so grabbing one with a croc-embossed finish will level up your current closet options if you haven’t tried one already. If you want to invest in a splurge, I would suggest this Brochu Walker Esme skirt that can take you through fall, winter and many seasons to come.

I also loved this A-line midi-length skirt in black from Bloomingdale’s. The midi skirt is still an absolute must-have in your wardrobe, and I really like the idea of elevating the silhouette and longer length with this trendy and chic embossed croc leather.

Croc-Embossed Shoes And Bags

I think classic croc accessories are a must have. So, let’s not forget to upgrade our favorite shoes and bags with one of the hottest trends of the season. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I’ve been gravitating toward comfy flats over heels, so when I found these leather penny loafers in the embossed croc trend, I jumped on them. The classic penny loafer style in the elevated leather is one of the best combinations out there if you want to achieve a sophisticated fall look.

I also really like these croc-embossed heeled mules. Though the mule style of shoe isn’t one of my personal favorites, these are a pair I would purchase if I wanted to give the style a try.

Finally, if handbags are your love, I found this Mark & Graham Embossed bag that has multiple compartments, comes in two color options and has an option to personalize with your initials. I think this is one of my absolute favorites that I found when searching for items for this trend.

And if oversized totes are not for you, you can get this vibrant red crossbody wallet with a compact size and multiple compartments that will keep you organized, but still looking trendy and fabulous.

Expert Style Tips

1. Stick with neutrals. When embracing this trend, I suggest sticking to neutral colors like black, brown and tan. If you go too bright, then that will cheapen the look. I am all for grabbing an occasional fun color, a pop of red or green, but I wouldn’t try too many saturated colors. You want to keep the look subtle and chic.
2. Mind the details. You don’t want to go overboard with oversized hardware or too many embellishments with this trend. Extra-large buttons, statement hardware and intricate details like ruffles, pleats or folds can cheapen the look. Keep it to simple silhouettes and refined details.
3. Go real leather if you can. There are so many beautiful faux pieces out there, but I’ve found that vegan leather just doesn’t last as long as the real deal, regardless of how well you care for it. If your budget allows, splurge for a real leather piece. With proper care and off-season storage, it could become a personal heirloom.
