Do you wanna get away, do wanna escape? I can help you… You may planning a summer trip or a getaway so you need a chic travel outfit to get you there! When I travel I like to wear clothing that is comfortable and versatile for the varying temperatures. I also like to pack light. The best way to do that is to wear something in the car, plane or train that you will be able to wear again in a different way once you get to your destination. I put together this comfy and chic travel outfit that will do the trick.
A Chic Travel Outfit High Low Style
I found high-end luxury designer pieces to get this look, pictured on the left. But fear not, I also pulled together a low priced version, (on the right) so you don’t have to spend a fortune. Or you can get creative and mix up some of the the high fashion with the low, to get a high-low styled travel outfit. Maybe you only choose the high priced shoes or the bag and no one will know the difference.
Travel Style Pants
Pants are perfect for travel, especially wide leg sporty track styles that you can dress up for another occasion. These Tom Ford Cotton-Terry Track Pants are amazing! They can go from the plane to the pool and later to for cocktails. However these luxurious track pants cost $1,450. But you can get the look for a lot less (only $24.99) with these Wide-leg Pull-On Pants from H&M.

Tank Top Base Layer
A black tank top is a must have for travel, especially if you are going to a destination with a warm climate. It’s a great layering piece in case you get hot or cold. A longer tank that is not too tight like this ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo Sweetheart Stretch-Modal Jersey Tank is perfect for $75. But this Halogen® Scoop Neck Woven Shell is very similar and has a perfect price at $39.
Cozy Cardigan Wrap
A lightweight cardigan sweater is ideal for travel because it is so easy to take off and fit into a tote bag. This Missoni Dégradé Crochet-Knit Cardigan is gorgeous and the blue hues will work with any shade of denim and work for dressier occasions over black pants or a dress. It is certainly something you would wear a lot and can keep forever, but it comes with a price tag of $2,190. You can get the same ombré tones with this Design History Dip-Dye Ribbed Long Cardigan, which is now on sale at Saks for only $38.75.
You will probably do a lot of walking on your trip so sneakers are in order! Why not go with a dressed up pair in silver like these cool Givenchy Urban Street Metallic Croc Embossed Sneaker for $595? They will go with everything you wear on vacation and add an upscale touch. What? You don’t want to invest $595? Then you may like these Sam Edelman Poppy Sneakers. They come in silver too. You won’t get the embossed texture with these, but they are only $49 at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Get them while they’re hot because they will go back to $100 after the sale ends on August 8th!
Soft Travel Style Weekend Bag
Even if you have a lot of luggage, you will like to have a travel tote on the plane or in the car to hold some necessities (phone, tablet, magazines, snacks) including your cardigan sweater! A soft bag like this See By Chloé Satin Weekend Bag has the right combination of chic and sporty, is lightweight and won’t take up a lot of space. It’s worth the investment of $365, but you can also opt for this more utilitarian Osprey Daylite® 45L Duffle Bag for only $80 and save $285! You won’t get the shiny satin, but it will function the same way and complete this comfy and chic travel outfit just the same.
