Last week I was extremely fortunate to be invited to attend the annual CEW Beauty Insider Awards 2017. It’s basically the Oscars of the beauty world…which is a world I relish living in. Imagine winning an award for the most innovative beauty product, best haircare product or best anti-aging product. You’d be pretty proud right? All the big (and newly discovered) names were represented and the competition was intense. The voting committee are the CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) US members which comprised of over 6,000 beauty industry professionals who know what’s beauty’s best. Over 900 products were entered by over 500 beauty brands and 230 were chosen across 40 categories.
For over two decades the award luncheon was held at New York’s Waldorf Astoria, but because the famed hotel is now shut down for renovations this year the awards were held at the NY Hilton in midtown for the first time ever. The enormous room was jammed packed and the excitement could be heard whenever a winner was announced (or when I saw one of my Tweets n the monitor). It was a treat to be a part of this great CEW tradition that apparently gets bigger and better every year.
