Celebrity Colorist Justin Anderson was recently in town for a dinner reception at The Belt Room at Soho House Chicago. I had the good fortune to meet him along with other local bloggers, stylists and beauty experts. He’s the go-to guy for Jennifer Aniston, Miley Cyrus, Kim Basinger, Kelly Osbourne, and Emma Roberts, to name a few, including actress and entrepreneur Kristin Cavallari, who was on hand to discuss hair, beauty, branding and social media along with Justin. They were both very genuine, open, helpful and totally adorable. Kristen turned the attention to Justin so he could tell us more about how he got his start in the industry and his hair product line, dpHUE.
Justin knew at an early age he wanted to work with hair. Growing up surfing and on the beach, he was fascinated with the way sun and seawater could change hair color, and it soon turned into his passion. He became an expert in southern California style hair. His haircare products help women across the country maintain their hair color between salon visits. Justin Anderson has a very fun Instagram @andersonjj as well as his styling business @justinandersoncolor and @dpHUE. His business advice is to always keep the privacy of clients unless they give permission to post!

I was given products to try at home and I have to profess – I love them! They were personally hand selected for my “cool blond” hair – purple hue shampoo and conditioner. Justin warned us not to over wash our hair even though his products are ultra gentle. He also provided a styling trick. dpHUE ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) Hair Rinse and Leave-In Hair Therapy offer cleansing and styling options for your hair without stripping the color between shampoos. No worries, your hair will not smell like a salad! ACV by dpHUE products have a light apple blossom fragrance. Finish it all off with dpHUE oil therapy (my newfound love)! It is light and can be used on wet or dry hair, is not greasy, and gives my hair amazing shine and a nice texture, without weighing it down. Check out the dpHUE Root Touch-Up Kit, the only professional, salon hair touch-up you can do at home.
