Best Looks On The Celebrities In The Front Row at NYFW Spring 2019

If you follow Fountain of 30 on Instagram, then you probably saw Editor-In-Chief Lauren Dimet Waters’ recent post on September 7 from the NYFW runway where she wrote, “Word has it #NYFW is sorta over.” Not sure if you agree, but it’s safe to say that it’s definitely not what it used to be. For one, there is no longer a Lincoln Center or a Bryant Park or a central location, so if you’re heading to the shows, you’re going to have to race around the city to do it – which is no easy feat, even for a local. “I don’t even recognize the names of half of the designers anymore,” Lauren said, and she’s right, but regardless, there are still some veterans that are making an impact. Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, and Oscar de la Renta all had stellar shows with celebrities in the front row.

Even more surprising, there were actually some decent celebs! Sure, it’s always weird to see Catherine Zeta-Jones’ daughter and Cindy Crawford’s daughter getting more attention then they do, but it was also nice to see A-listers like Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Kate Moss and Blake Lively, taking their spots in the front row. Other names you’ll probably recognize, that are having a moment, include Priyanka Chopra and Tiffany Haddish.

I’m happy to report there were lots of graphics and bright colors on the runway this season and on the celebrities in the front row! No, of course I didn’t like all (or most) of the outfits but here are the ones that made an impact.

YES! I LOOK FORWARD TO #GROWINGYOUNGER

The Best Looks On The Celebrities In The Front Row at NYFW Spring 2019

Sofia Coppola at Marc Jacobs

Sofia Coppola is so indie all the time, that I love when she goes a little bit more mainstream. Granted, she has been a Marc Jacobs fan for a while, but I’m not really used to seeing her in electric blue, and I believe it suits her!

Nicki Minaj at Oscar de la Renta

Everyone has been saying for a while that Oscar de la Renta, now that it’s sans its late namesake, is trying very hard to appease a younger audience. That may be true, but I’m surprised by how much I like this outfit on Nicki Minaj and I usually hate her getups because they look like she’s trying too hard. I don’t know how many 40-somethings could actually pull this look off, unlike Sofia which is actually possible for a glam nighttime party no matter what the age, but this is nice to look at isn’t it?

The Indian Express called Priyanka Chopra‘s outfit at Longchamp, styled by Mimi Cuttrell, “nice” but overall “underwhelming” and I beg to differ. I thought it was a great choice and not too much, and I definitely like those shoes!

On Tiffany Haddish at Tory Burch – that jacket is everything! That’s all I have to say. What a statement piece.

Kate Bosworth, I’m not a huge fan of your red leather jumpsuit at Calvin Klein but I do love the risk-taking get-up.

All of the ladies in the front row of Michael Kors (pictured at the top) looked amazing and all so different, but I have to give special props to Rose Byrne for always changing up her look but still looking ever so put together, even in a dress with a print I normally wouldn’t like.
