There were several reasons why I wanted to try POP Beauty Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara:
1. It’s waterproof.
I like waterproof mascara! I hate little specks of black under the eyes…
2. It creates a fake lash-effect, maximum lash length and a volumizing effect.
Bring it on! My lashes are tragically thin and I like the idea of fake lashes without the glue.
3. It creates a glossy effect.
I love gloss and shine, an I’ve been feeling very dry and brittle
4. It’s ophthalmologist-tested, fragrance-free, and suitable for sensitive eyes and contact-lens wearers.
Perfect! I wear contact lenses and I cannot stand to get those little fibers in my eyes!…Ow.
5. It has the name ‘Smokey Lash Kapow’.
I love "the smokey eye" – and I am also a big fan of superheroes.
I tried this new mascara for a several days. It really does extend my lashes, and gives me a natural look – not a fake lashes look. My lashes became more long than thick, but that may be just on me. It also tends to straighten the lashes. I see now why they had in their directions "curl lashes first." So I’ll read directions…for mascara…from now on. They were right. It was better to curl my lashes first to avoid them straightening out.
Was it smudgeproof and waterproof? Completely! You can sleep with your face smashed into a pillow and both you and the pillow will survive smudge free! (Yes, I tried it. I was extremely tired one night). It is also work-out-proof, and "you got something under your eye"-proof.
As for the removal procedure – it was a bit difficult compared to removing regular mascara, but it came off with a few extra gentle rubs.
One day, I put a lot of coats of the mascara on. Don’t try that…It got clumpy!
Overall, I am happy with Smokey Lash Kapow and feel confident that it will hold up in a Chicago snowstorm – Kapow!
