If I could have had a cool Barbie like the Maison Martin Margiela decked out one above, I might not have felt the need to cut her hair and take permanent magic marker to her face when I was a tot. I wasn't destructive, just bored.
Barbie’s 50th birthday celebrations continue. Heck, her birthday celebrations last longer than Paris Hilton's! And she doesn't look a day over 22…how does she do it? Next up? A Paris exhibition of designer looks for the iconic diva is set to be unveiled at
Galeries Lafayette on Monday. Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Lacroix, Jean Paul Gaultier and Sonia Rykiel are among around 50 designers to have downsized signature looks for
the “Barbie Fashion Show 2009” event. What a lucky girl Barbie is indeed. She has a better closet than most of us could ever hope to have.
The show ends April 25, but according to Mattel will travel. I am keeping my fingers crossed the show travels stateside.
