I spotted the 40s trend many times on the Fall 2016 runways and noticed the look popping up again and still going strong for Spring 17. So it is pretty safe to say this trend is here to stay for a while. It’s easy-to-wear for most body types and works for all ages
It’s no surprise fashion designers draw inspiration from the past, as the New York Fashion Week Spring ’17 runways once again confirmed. When you watch and then look at photos of the shows you may be thinking, “Haven’t I seen that someplace before?” and of course, you are right! Some of these looks date back to 40s and from every era since. So I put together a little match-up of the spring ’17 trends with some of our favorite fashion icons from decades past for proof. Whether it was intentional or subliminal perhaps the New York designers were inspired by these legendary looks
It’s September and the kids are back in school, summer work hours are over and the stores are chock full of new fall fashion! But it’s 200 degrees out (yes, really!) but it doesn’t quite look right to wear white sandals, eyelet, summer neon colors and Lilly Pulitzer prints. This kind of weather may hold on through October, too! So what are we supposed to wear?

I wear jeans almost every day and recently (for no particular reason) I decided to “glam up” my white scoop neck T-shirt and faded jeans with a blingy statement necklace from J.Crew. I know statement necklaces are not considered “on trend” but I don’t care, I still like the look and sometimes you have to go with your gut. I like the contrast of a bold necklace especially in summer and with casual clothes. I got compliments on my statement necklace all day from everyone
