The New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 shows have ended and now that it’s all said and done I think the trends are playful and sophisticated (though not terribly unexpected). Proenza Schouler has been a steady staple in fashion week’s of the past and have proved to be a reliable source of trends to look to in seasons to come. Their New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 collection kept the dream alive with displays in saturated primary colors playing against stark black and white bases. The use of bold patterns and rich textures brought the collection to a higher level, once again confirming their place on the top is well deserved
Victoria Beckham is quickly becoming one of my favorite ready-to-wear designers (though I feel like I’m coming in a little late in the game) as she has been putting out incredibly well thought out and tailored collections for several years now. Her New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 collection was no exception as she took many of fashions trending moments, gave them a spin and made them completely something that I’m willing to give a shot (I’m looking at you 1990’s era crushed velvet)
Jason Wu’s New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 collection played to the real woman. The woman who gets up and rules the office during the day, the family during the evening and takes some time to have fun during her weekend. The collection was inspired by Ugo Rondinone, a Swiss-born mixed media artist who is well-known for Seven Magic Mountains, an installation of seven neon stone totems painted in bright yellows, purples and other colors, constructed from car-size stones located just outside of Las Vegas
