New York Fashion Week Spring ’17: Diane von Furstenberg Reimagined Classics

The first Spring/Summer collection since Diane von Furstenberg stepped down as head of her decades old namesake collection is one to be remembered. Jonathan Saunders, the new Chief Creative Officer for the brand, showcases his spin on the fashion icon’s collection, which took the classic silhouette and bias cut of the wrap dress and gave it a bit of an update. Needless to say this style can’t get any more classy and sophisticated, but Saunders managed to re-imagine the well known styles of DVF by presenting then in a new and modernized light perfect for the lady who still admires classic DVF but craves a bit of a modern twist

New York Fashion Week Spring ’17: Sonia by Sonia Rykiel’s Casual Country Chic

New York Fashion Week is yet again upon us and as the excitement of what the future holds in fashion is buzzing, I can’t help but cover the biggest fashion event of the year for our first post, and pay tribute to a fashion great that was very recently lost. Wearable Trends: Pre-Fall Leopard Print

I love what the fashion industry dubs “Pre-Fall.” In my opinion it’s that perfect time of year when it’s not the scorching summer heat but not yet the super cold weather many of us have come to dread – I mean, it’s really hard to look super cute when there are subzero temps outside! One of my favorite pre-fall trends (and probably one of my all-time favorites) is leopard print

Wearable Trends: Victorian Style Secrets

What was once old is new again is a fashion mantra. This spring, not just one single trend but an entire era of yesterday is on full display for all of us fashion-lovers to appreciate. Victorian-inspired fashion is trickling its way into our spring wardrobe and I must admit, I love it. High necklines, ruffles, brocade, rich colors and textures and full sleeves are now all spring-appropriate looks, proving that less skin can be more.

Wearable Trends: Love To Lace ‘em Up

This month I’d like to talk about one of my favorite fashion topics: shoes! More specifically a spring shoe trend that has completely dominated the season, the lace up sandal. I consider this trend to be an updated and more refined spin on the gladiator sandals that we couldn’t get away from a few years ago. For 2016, the laces are delicate and thin, feminine and much more universally flattering than earlier versions of this trend.
