Beauty Over 50: My 2026 Holy Grail Makeup Favorites (Part 1)

Last year about this time I wrote a post called The Beauty Products You Can’t Live Without: My Ride Or Die List and I feel I must update it as a lot can change in a year.

This time, I decided to break things into two lists: one for makeup and one for skincare. What can I say? There are simply too many products I can’t live without.  This is Part One featuring makeup favorites, and Part Two (coming next) will cover the skincare products that make all of this work even better.

Some of these items remain on the list from last year, but there are some new additions as I try and test new products. These are the ones that stay in my makeup routine.

My 2026 Holy Grail Beauty Products: Makeup

These are the makeup products I rely on most right now — formulas that enhance mature skin, add natural glow, and work beautifully for women over 50 without feeling heavy or complicated.

Doll10 T.C.E Luminous Undereye Corrector n rose quartz for mature skin

1. Doll10 T.C.E Luminous Undereye Corrector in Rose Quartz, $30

Use Code LAUREN15 to save 15%

I truly can’t explain how this stuff performs small miracles, but it does. Doll10 T.C.E Luminous Undereye Corrector makes my under-eyes appear instantly awake and smooth without looking like I’m wearing makeup — which, at this stage of life, is the whole goal. I don’t leave the house without brushing a little on (yes, even on no-foundation days). T.C.E. — This Corrects Everything — but make it luminous. It brightens dark circles, softens the look of fine lines, and gives that subtle, healthy radiance that makes you look rested instead of “concealed.” It’s weightless, buildable, packed with skin-loving ingredients like phyto collagen, caffeine extract, and vitamin C, and it’s clean and cruelty-free without the junk (no talc, parabens, phthalates, or sulfates). And for me? It has to be Rose Quartz.

blinc The Rare Gem Eye Shadow Palette in metallics for a natural look

2. Blinc The Rare Gem Eye Shadow Palette, $69.95

When this palette arrived and I opened it, I actually laughed — because for the first time ever, I loved every single shade and could realistically wear all of them. No “well maybe for a costume party” colors. Just gorgeous, usable tones that make your eyes look alive. The Rare Gem Palette by blinc is one of those rare finds (pun intended) that works for a soft daytime look or something more elevated at night without feeling overdone. The pigments are rich, the texture is buttery and easy to blend (even if you’re not a makeup artist), and there’s zero dusty fallout all over your face. It’s a mix of mattes, shimmers, and subtle metallics that flatter grown-up eyes instead of overpowering them — and once it’s on, it stays put. This has quietly become my new everyday go-to.

Sarah Kreal Eyes Up Creamy Kajal Longwear Liner in copper mature skin

3. Sarah Kreal Eyes Up Creamy Kajal Longwear Liner in Copper, $35

When this liner went viral, I thought, absolutely not — $35 for eyeliner is insane. But then I tried it. And now I get it. The Sarah Kreal Eyes Up Creamy Kajal Longwear Liner in Copper (a rich reddish-brown with bronze pearl) somehow makes eyes over 50 look defined and awake without looking harsh or dated. It glides on easily, blends beautifully, and then actually stays put — no smudging, no transferring, no shadow underneath by mid-afternoon (you know the one). It was designed specifically for mature lids and skincare-heavy routines, and for once, something actually performs the way it promises. Annoyingly worth every penny.

YSE Skin Glow Illuminating 3-in-1 SPF 30 Primer for mature skin

4. YSE Skin Glow Illuminating 3-in-1 SPF 30 Primer, $54

Use code LAUREN-15 for 15% off

Technically this is skincare because it’s a sunscreen with skincare… but I wear it like makeup, so we’re calling it both. YSE Beauty Skin Glow Illuminating 3-in-1 SPF 30 Primer gives me that soft, blurred, lit-from-within glow that makes foundation feel optional during the day. It melts into skin, hydrates, brightens, and subtly evens things out while protecting with SPF 30 — thanks to niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidant-rich spirulina. It smooths, plumps, diffuses imperfections, and somehow makes my skin look more awake without looking like I tried too hard. Sunscreen I actually want to wear? That’s a win.

Givenchy Prisme Libre Glow Serum Blurring Foundation with Natural Finish spf

5. Givenchy Prisme Libre Glow Serum Blurring Foundation with Natural Finish, $63

On the days (or nights) I want a little more coverage, I reach for Givenchy Prisme Libre Glow Serum Blurring Foundation — and I don’t say this lightly, it’s the best coverage I’ve found yet. Yes, even better than Luminous Silk in my opinion. It was made with mature skin in mind, so it hydrates while it blurs, thanks to micro hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and yuzu extract. The finish is natural and breathable, not mask-like, but it still gives that medium-to-full buildable coverage that actually lasts — waterproof, transfer-resistant, and somehow still comfortable. It smooths, corrects, and wears beautifully without settling into everything we don’t want it settling into. This is foundation where performance finally meets grown-up skin.

Ogee Sculpted Face Stick in Obsidian contours and defines

6. Ogee Sculpted Face Stick in Obsidian, $42

This has been my go-to contour for years — and no matter how many new ones I try, I always come back to it. I love a multitasking product, and this sculpted face stick just works. The creamy formula blends in seconds, no harsh lines, no drama. I use the shade Obsidian, a matte deep bronze that defines cheekbones, adds dimension, and gives that natural sculpted look without looking overly contoured. It’s buildable, blendable, and infused with skin-loving ingredients — plus it’s certified organic and cruelty-free. Whether I’m doing a full face or just adding a little definition on a “no-makeup” day, this stick makes me look instantly more put together.

Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight in Reflect for natural glow

7. Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight in Reflect, $28

At this point in life, I’m not chasing shimmer. I’m chasing light. The kind that makes skin look healthy, rested, and quietly radiant. Rare Beauty Positive Light liquid luminizer does exactly that. It’s not glittery, not frosty — just a soft, believable glow that makes people think your skin is having a very good day. I use the shade Reflect and tap it where I want a little lift — tops of cheekbones, a touch on the temples, sometimes even mixed into foundation when my skin needs a boost. It melts in, doesn’t sit on top, and never emphasizes texture (which, let’s be honest, matters). Lightweight, clean, and impossibly flattering — this is glow for grown women.

ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara in Rich Brown soft color mature eyes

8. ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara in Rich Brown, $29

After decades of grabbing the same “go-to” mascaras, I finally thought… maybe I should care a little more about what I’m putting that close to my eyes. We only get two, after all. I tried a handful of the newer “clean” options, and ILIA Limitless Lash Mascara is the one I keep reaching for. It gives real length and lift — not polite, barely-there lashes — but defined, separated, actually noticeable lashes without clumping or flaking halfway through the day. The dual-sided wand lets you build and comb through (a detail I didn’t know I needed), and it somehow holds up for hours without smudging under my eyes. Bonus: it’s safe for sensitive eyes, removes easily with warm water, and is infused with ingredients that actually support lash health. Clean, effective, no raccoon eyes. And it comes in brown.

Jones Road The Mascara great pigment

Honorable Mention: Jones Road The Mascara, $28

I have to give a shoutout to The Mascara from Jones Road because if it ever came in brown or black-brown, it might honestly dethrone my current favorite. It’s that good. The formula is inky, ultra-pigmented black, clean, cruelty-free, and conditioning, and it separates, lifts, and volumizes in one swipe without making lashes crunchy. The curved wand grabs even those tiny inner corner lashes and fans everything out beautifully. It stays flexible, feels soft, and thanks to vitamin E, actually conditions instead of drying lashes out. For now, I save it for evenings because full black feels a little intense on me during the day — but if they ever give us a softer shade? Game over.

Doll10 Peptide Plump Peptide Plumping Lip Liner in spiced chai fuller lips

9. Doll10 Peptide Plump Peptide Plumping Lip Liner, $20

Use Code LAUREN15 to save 15%

I didn’t know I needed another lip liner… until I tried this one from Doll10 in Spiced Chai. Now I reach for it almost automatically because it works with every single nude in my drawer. It gives that subtly fuller, softly defined lip without looking overlined or harsh — just polished. The formula is plush and creamy (no dragging), infused with peptides, mango oil, and hyaluronic acid so it feels comfortable and lightly plumping instead of dry and chalky. It twists up (no sharpener drama), stays put, and layers beautifully under gloss or lipstick. Clean, cruelty-free, and quietly transformative — which, honestly, is my favorite kind of product.

Jones Road The Classic Lip Nude Rose daytime favorite

10. Jones Road The Classic Lip in Nude Rose, $30

And speaking of nude lips… this has quietly become my new daytime favorite. If you know me, you know I’ve worn MAC Soar for years (and I still pull it out at night), but I wanted something a little cleaner for everyday — especially knowing we basically ingest a tube of lipstick a year. The Classic Lip is lightweight, richly pigmented, and has that perfect satin finish that looks polished but not heavy. It’s infused with shea butter and vitamin E, so it actually conditions while you wear it, instead of drying your lips out by noon. It’s classic, comfortable, and grown-up — the kind of nude that makes you look put together without trying too hard.

ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr Powder Melt Glass Setting Spray radiant finish

11. ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr Powder Melt Glass Setting Spray, $34

This is one of those products I absolutely did not think I needed… until someone talked me into trying it. And now? I get it. The ONE/SIZE Powder Melt Glass Setting Spray somehow takes that slightly powdery, “makeup is sitting on top” look and melts everything together into a smooth, radiant finish. Not shiny. Not greasy. Just that healthy, glassy skin effect that makes everything look more expensive. It’s skincare-infused with ceramides, ginger flower water, and lime pearl extract, so it hydrates while locking makeup in place for hours. It extends wear, softens texture, and gives that subtle glow that makes you look like you sleep eight hours (even if you don’t). I didn’t think I needed it. I was wrong.

Ionic London Prep-Set-Glow Hydrating Glowy Setting Spray glowing skin for evening

Honorable Mention: Ionic London Prep-Set-Glow Hydrating Glowy Setting Spray, $34

This one gets an honorable mention because I genuinely love it — just not for daytime. The Iconic London Prep-Set-Glow Setting Spray gives serious radiance… and by serious, I mean sparkle. For me, it’s an evening-only situation. If I’m going out and want that lit-from-every-angle glow, this delivers. It preps, hydrates, and sets makeup while adding a glossy, light-catching finish that looks amazing under restaurant lighting. It’s infused with vitamin E, caffeine, and antioxidants, so it’s doing a little skincare while it shines, and it can be used before makeup, after, or tapped on high points for extra glow. Daytime? A bit much for me. Date night? Absolutely.

If you’re rebuilding your makeup routine or just looking to refresh a few staples, these are the products I genuinely reach for every single day — not just for photos, but real life.

Did I pick any you love? Did I miss any? Let me know.
