‘Tis the season to get dressed and bring out all the sparkle and glam; however, ’tis also the season to relax and be cozy indoors, with the warming beverages and treats of your choice. And when you do that, you want to be as comfortable as possible. But that doesn’t mean you can’t dress with a little more fun than usual!
We’ve put together our favorite casual festive or cozy glam pieces for holiday 2025. Whether you go all out for the season or celebrate more simply, you deserve something special for making it through the year.

Plush Velvet Sets
A velvet or velour set in a rich jewel tone can be super comfortable and holiday-ready—just think of it as your hostess pajamas. Plus, velour tracksuits have been making a comeback. When styled right, they can look far more refined than the 2000s versions you’re picturing; for instance, H&M’s take on the trend is a boxy modern silhouette in rich navy or chocolate brown with wide leg pants.

Uniqlo has a sleek alternative with a matching velour tee and wide-leg pants.

Chic House Slippers
Stay warm and comfy with fur-trimmed house shoes or slippers; as an added bonus, these make a great gift item as well. We love these metallic ivory ones from R.G. Barry at Nordstrom Rack—they are super luxe and a little festive, perfect for the holidays.

Oversize Cardigans
Just as cozy as a robe but you can actually go outside in it! If you find one with some special touches like this structured black duster style from White House Black Market, it’s the perfect thing to throw on over velvet pants or palazzos for any low key holiday gathering; plus it would also work as a light jacket over a cocktail dress in a pinch.

Statement Jewelry
Wear any or all of the above with bold earrings, a major necklace, or a couple cocktail rings to make it party-appropriate. Stack on all your favorite pieces, and if you need some inspiration, we’re loving layers of pearls and gold or silver chains like this necklace from Ettika or this tiered option from Nordstrom’s house label.

Holiday Makeup
Just because your outfit is casual that doesn’t mean you can’t wear a little extra shimmer or sparkle. A bold lip or a champagne eye shadow (try this Natasha Denona palette) work with everything in November or December. You can also add a bit of glitter to your manicure for extra cheer.

Holiday Pajamas
New year, new pajamas! Lounging around in your pajamas feels classier when said pajamas are coordinated and luxe like this deep emerald Ralph Lauren set. Wear your holiday bling and your favorite slippers and you are set for Christmas morning—or any other gathering at your place.

Lounge Skirts and Dresses
These are one of the more challenging items to find, but when you find the perfect winter lounge sweater dress or knit skirt you have a real score. And this one from C by Bloomingdale’s might be just the ticket—layer on the jewelry and you’ve got an evening vibe, but it’s just as comfortable as the pajamas mentioned above.
Do you have certain pieces you bring out around the holiday season, even if you’re just wearing them around the house? What are your favorite ways to make a casual look more seasonally special? Do you dress for the winter holidays, or is an ugly sweater or other themed piece as far as you go? Let us know in the comments or in our Growing Younger Facebook Page!
