Cherry Red Dresses

A cherry red dress is definitely a bold statement, and if you want to try this trend for fall then this would be a fun way to go! As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve been wearing a lot more skirts and dresses this year. So, I was excited to look for some dresses in this super trendy fall color.

red Long Sleeve A-line Tie Waist Midi Sweater Dresse
ANRABESS Long Sleeve A-line Tie Waist Midi Sweater Dress, $45.99

I found a couple of really versatile red dresses that would work for a lot of women over 50. The first is this midi-length sweater dress. This one is probably best for mid-to-late fall, with the long-sleeved ribbed detail, deep V-neck, and longer, midi-length skirt. You can style this with a pair of tall leather boots for a quintessential fall look.

cherry red Ted Baker Shirt Dress with Self Belt

The other dress option will work right now and will transition easily into early fall. This Ted Baker shirt dress features a classic A-line silhouette with button-front closure, front pockets, and a tie waist. I would wear this one now to the office with some leather sandals or keep it casual with a pair of simple sneakers. For early fall, I would go with a pair of Mary Janes and a chunky knit sweater and finish it off with a pair of big gold earrings.

Boden Evita Cotton Shift Dress Poppy Red

Finally, I came across this cotton shift dress from Boden. It’s a little bit of a wild card and speaks to a specific personal style. It’s prim and proper, but in cherry red it makes a bold statement piece. This one isn’t particularly for me, but I love this for the right woman.

Cherry Red Pants And Tops

Separates are a given for the fall. You can never go wrong with finding the right pieces to mix and match. Throwing in a few cherry red pieces into your fall wardrobe can keep you up to date with the fall trends.

I’ve always been partial to a pair of bold pants, and I’ve had my fair share of red options. These amazing ponte straight-leg pants are reminiscent of an “off-duty Old Hollywood movie star.” I actually love the way these pants are styled on the Spanx website and would probably wear them in a similar way with a classic white button down and loafers.

cherry red High Rise Ultrasoft Horseshoe Jeans fountainof30
High Rise Ultrasoft Horseshoe Jeans, $89.9

I’m still not completely on board with the barrel-leg jean trend, but these fun, cherry red high-rise horseshoe jeans from Gap definitely caught my eye. For all the ladies who have jumped on the barrel-leg trend, I’d recommend them as a standout addition to your fall wardrobe.

Evereve Teagan Pullover openweave red fountainof30
Evereve Teagan Pullover, $74.99

I found some fun tops in the cherry red trend for fall as well. The first is this Teagan pullover, which is another option that is perfect to wear right now. The collared neckline, short sleeves, and large, loose cotton knit paired with tan or navy wide-legged jeans would look so polished and tailored. Wear it over a v-neck cami like this one.

Red Hammered Satin Halter Button-Down Top
Banana Republic Hammered Satin Halter Button-Down Top, $46.99

Finally, I noticed this red hammered satin, button-front satin top which I think is stunning. I like the option of wearing this during the day at the office under a jacket for some unexpected elegance. Of course, it is also great for an evening out.

Cherry Red Accessories And Shoes

I think most of us like to add a pop of color when we are accessorizing our outfits. The cherry red color trend for fall is probably the perfect color to do so. I found quite a few pieces that you can add to your look to give it some extra flair. However, I decided to keep it simple. This skinny leather belt is the first option I’d show someone who is looking to accessorize using this color. You can add this one to jeans, pants, a skirt or cinch in the waist of a shift dress. It’s also a plus because skinny belts are another a big trend for the fall!

red Slouchy Bag fountainof30
Anthropologie The Love Knot Slouchy Bag, $98

If you are a handbag gal, you can try this Love Knot Slouchy Bag from Anthropologie. Another piece that combines multiple fall trends, this slouchy bag silhouette is totally in fashion this season. I like how this one has a top button closure and an inner zip pouch, which allows for some organization.

Shoes are always my favorite part, so I saved them for last. If you are more into casual dressing, you can add these Nike Cortez sneakers to your collection.

cherry red Naturalizer Havana Flat fountainof30
Naturalizer Havana Flat, $119

If you want something more elevated for you day-to-day wear, you can try these red Naturalizer Havana Flats. They could fall on the higher end of some budgets, but the leather upper and foam lining will probably result in you being able to wear them year after year.

Cherry Red Trend Expert Style Tips

  1. Mix and match your cherry red. I love the idea of wearing multiple pieces of red in one outfit. Pair your cherry red top with a matching belt. Or wear your cherry red dress with some matching shoes. I don’t think you can go overboard with this trend. Be as bold as you want when wearing your red.
  2. Go high low. There is nothing worse than the look of a pair of obviously inexpensive shoes or a cheap looking red tote bag. When looking for pieces that incorporate this trend. When possible, try to stick with leather and suede accessories and shoes to ensure quality pieces. Or you can also look for high quality synthetics as they are definitely out there. If you want to stay within a lower price point, then look for some fun tops, a skirt or a dress to hit your budget.
  3. Know what works for you. In all honesty, this particular red may not be everyone’s best shade. So, if it’s not for you, know that you don’t have to wrap yourself in it head to toe just to be on trend. You can dabble with accessories, shoes or jewelry like thes cherry drop earrings to incorporate this color trend into your closet.
