7 Easy Ways to Stay Healthy Without Sacrificing Your Time

The modern way of life to which most of us are forced to adapt these days is not exactly the picture perfect situation for your overall health. In fact, many of our daily habits involve grabbing a bite to eat at a fast food joint and washing it down with a sugared drink. Not only is it arguably very tasty, but it’s also convenient, cheap and you don’t have to “waste” valuable time on actually cooking your food. But what if I told you that you could make some lifestyle changes and improve your health without actually having to sacrifice much of your time?

Today I want to talk about just that; seven easy methods that you can use to become more healthy today, while still being able to keep up with your daily routine.

1. High-Intensity Workouts

If you’ve already joined a gym and are one of those people that spend an hour to 90 minutes on a single workout, this one should be really helpful. Truthfully, you can save a lot of time on your workouts simply by making them more intense. High-intensity interval training is a form of exercise that doesn’t take that much time but burns a lot of calories and gets you into shape fast, simply because of the higher intensity.

2. Drink Lots of Water

I’m really baffled sometimes when I realize how many people out there don’t drink water at all. They’d drink stuff like coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages, but when it comes to water the majority of them claim that they just “don’t like the taste of it”. A great and easy way to improve your health at no extra time cost is simply to start drinking more water; it takes seconds to pour yourself a glass, and ultimately your body will definitely thank you for it.

3. Healthy Snack Bowl

If you tend to get hungry during the day between your regular meals and often find yourself heading to the fridge to snack on something, there’s actually a great way that you can use this to your advantage. Simply take a big bowl and fill it with healthy snacks like fruits, berries and the like, instead of something like chips.

4. Short Meditation Sessions

Most people think that meditation is something that takes hours of sitting down on the floor and working hard to keep your mind completely clear, which is why a lot of them always claim they have no time nor patience to attempt it. This is a common misconception, though; the duration of the meditation doesn’t really matter as long as it feels good to you, and it’s a great way to relieve excess bodily and mental stress. Meditating for a mere five minutes every day can have drastic effects on your energy levels, mood and overall vitality, and that amount of time is something everyone can spare, so I highly recommend you get into it.

5. Slow Cooking

The tastiest and healthiest meals are those that you put time and effort into, but what if you just can’t find the time? Easy – invest in a slow cooker. It sounds a little contradictory at first, until you understand what a slow cooker actually does. And what it does is it cooks your meal while you’re away from home (at work, for example), and times it so that the meal is done at the exact moment you’re supposed to get back.
