Have a yearning for a fresh and delicious Asian flavored bowl? Forget carry out, because you can easily make these teriyaki salmon bowls for a weeknight meal or any time right at home. I know it satisfies my “fancy sushi” craving because it is drizzled with spicy mayo and is loaded with fresh crunchy vegetables including edemame, carrots and cucumber on top of rice. Garnish the rice bowls with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions for a wonderful blend of Asian flavors. Sure you can pick something like this up, but Isn’t it always better to make your meals yourself?
Teriyaki Salmon Bowls Recipe
If you eat a lot of salmon like we do, this teriyaki bowl is the perfect way to make it when you’re looking for a change. It’s s an amazing and flavorful variation. It’s like a poke bowl, only with cooked salmon (instead of raw). We feel like we’re eating out – only we’re home!

This salmon bowl recipe may look somewhat complicated but it is really very simple and will take you less than a half hour to make. Cook the rice and the edename in advance and all you need to do is whip up the fresh sauces, sauté the salmon and put everything together in a bowl. This recipe makes two large bowls but you can easily double up the recipe to serve four.
If you want to lower the calories and carbs, you can substitute the rice with cauliflower rice or zucchini noodles. You can also refrain from adding more spicy mayo, which I find hard to do! Try this teriyaki salmon bowl recipe tonight!
Teriyaki Salmon Bowls with Spicy Mayo
Yields: 2 servings
Prep: 10 minutes| Cook Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 salmon fillets
- 3 cups cooked rice
- 1 cup cooked edamame
- 1 large carrot, grated
- ½ cucumber, sliced into half moon pieces
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Garnishes: toasted sesame seeds, sliced green onions
Teriyaki Sauce Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
Spicy Mayo Ingredients:
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
Directions:
- In a small bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce ingredients and set aside.
- Dry salmon with a paper towel. Cut into bite size pieces and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Add avocado oil to a medium saute pan on medium heat. Add salmon to the hot pan and cook for 4-5 minutes, flipping pieces occasionally to ensure even cooking. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the fish and continue cooking for an additional minute.
- Divide rice, cooked salmon, edamame, carrot and cucumber into two bowls, starting with a bed of rice first.
- In a small bowl, mix together spicy mayo ingredients and drizzle on each completed bowl. Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy fresh. Serve with extra teriyaki sauce and spicy mayo if desired.
