During one of our recent daily fashion discussions, Lauren mentioned that she is really into white jeans for summer. And as you can tell by the outfits I have been putting together, I definitely am too (perhaps ad nauseam)! White denim jeans are truly a summer staple, and we believe every woman over 50 should own a pair (or two, or three) or more! Here are the reasons why you need them in your wardrobe.
Why You Need White Jeans for Summer
1. They keep you looking and feeling cool for the season, but you are still under cover.
2. White denim is more substantial fabric than other white pants and there is less show-though, especially when you wear them with skintone panties.

3. White jeans are a level above blue denim. They look dressier and very similar to nice white pants, so they can be worn for cocktails or going out to dinner. White jeans can also “go either way” if you are not sure if you need to be dressy or casual for an occasion. They take the guesswork out of dressing.
4. White jeans give your wardrobe an instant refresh for summer. They go with everything in your closet (duh!) … since they are white! Everything looks brighter when paired with white.
5. Finding the best pair of white jeans that are right for you is easy. You can start with your favorite tried and true blue denim style, and get them in white! You know you will look good and feel comfortable too. But you may also like to try a new denim jeans style for Summer 2023 which I will show you below.
Best White Jeans Styles for Women Over 50
You may already have white jeans in your closet, but may need an update for summer 2023. Now is a good time to assess the white jeans you have and replace them with a new style or just a fresh new pair. White denim gets worm and dingy in a similar way as white t-shirts, which is another reason to get a new pair. So what are the best white jeans styles for women over 50?
Here are some of the best styles to try for Summer 2023 and ideas on how to wear them.
High Waisted Slim White Jeans
High-rise or high waisted jeans are flattering because you can tuck in your top with a belt or wear a French tuck. This pair above from Goldsign has a slim leg style but they are not as tight as skinny jeans. A basic style like this is a great option. These jeans are versatile since you can wear tops tucked in or wear tunics and blouses over them. If you add a pair of high-rise white jeans to your wardrobe, you may also be able to revive a few tops that you already own that you felt were too short.

Summer is an ideal time to try a pair of wide leg jeans in white which are very on-trend for the season. The loose leg styling will keep you cool on hot summer days and the silhouette is striking and dramatic for evening. For a dressy look for dinner or cocktails wear wide leg white jeans with a floral top or silky blouse with heels or high wedge sandals.
Cropped White Jeans
Not only are cropped white jeans cooler than full length and a fantastic alternative to shorts, they will also show off your sandals and shoes. Opt for straight-leg cropped like this pair above from Frame as well as cropped flare leg options.
Flare or Boot Cut White Denim Jeans

Straight leg jean styles are a good option for most figure types since they skim over your knees and have a forgiving fit. Something like this pair from Paige fits the bill. They, like most denim styles I’m showing you, have 2% stretch in the fabric, which will give you a smoother and more comfortable fit.

Simply start with your favorite jeans style and wear white jeans in place of your blue ones. If you are new to the white denim jeans trend, you will fell like you have a brand new wardrobe.
White Jeans Beyond Labor Day
White jeans are not only for summer from Memorial Day to Labor Day any more. They look smashing in the fall with a black turtleneck or a button front shirt and a leather jacket. Wear them with textured sweaters and suede boots or even a velvet top. In other words the white jeans you invest in today will give you wardrobe mileage beyond summer.
