This week I was thrilled to meet Scott Schuman of the Sartorialist, and the fabulous Garance Dore at their launch breakfast for the new Doc campaign. They were both very humble, friendly, and inspiring; it was a treat to chat with them both! A group of bloggers were allowed a sneak peek at the fall looks and the new campaign entitled ‘First and Forever’ (featuring the adorable Agness Deyn and Ash Stymest) because almost everyone has a good memory of their first pair of Dr. Martens! The campaign was shot by the talented Gavin Watson who couldn’t be a more perfect fit! Especially after 25 years of photographing British youth and subculture in his famous raw, edgy aesthetic…full of attitude. I enjoyed chatting, nibbling and sipping as I viewed the new looks and their mini movie. I especially loved seeing the first-ever Doc Martins clothing line! We all were encouraged to share a ‘first experience’ story, and had a great time laughing and sharing crazy memories of all kinds! Here are a few of the best looks from the fall look books! This is my favorite shot of the clothing collection. The looks are just so unbelievably cool. The pieces have a young, edgy, careless attitude that is a necessary addition to everyone’s wardrobe. At the same time, the collection keeps things classic and practical. The clothes will be great basics and layering pieces as they are functional for everyday and easy to mix into your existing wardrobe. The looks will work with everything from preppy school looks to edgy downtown pieces… or even to add a little toughness to a more feminine outfit. I love these. They look so warm and so cozy. I can’t wait to slip my feet into a pair! Not to mention the color combo above in slate blue with the pastel coral skinnys are to die for! Again, these shoes are perfect to mix into a preppier wardrobe while staying comfortable, cool and practical. I like the orange detail on the sole as well. It really completes the look! The horse hair covered looks are to die for as well. Especially in this sort of black cherry color! Pair them with an edgy pair of drop crotch motorcycle denim, and you’re done! Such a cool edition to so many outfits!     I’m also really excited about these satchels. So wearable. And so classic. The retro bags are perfect back-to-school pieces made in collaboration with Cambridge Satchel Company. At 15″ they double as a chic laptop carrier as well. I love them. Here are a few other new styles I’m excited about! -Alyssa Buishas Photos: Dr. Martens
