Kate Young’s Target Collection Party
Celebs attended a prom-themed party to celebrate Kate Young for Target collection, which launches on Sunday. This is the stylist’s first collection with the discount retailer. The party was held in the gym at the Old Cathedral School in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood. Shimmering confetti, pink neon decorations, and a giant disco ball transformed the room and gave it a nostalgic feeling. Brightly colored tissue paper corsages were given to all the guests as they arrived. Loopy straws shaped like “Kate” in were in the drinks and sweet treats were served. Partygoers included Jason Wu, Michelle Williams, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Kate Mara.
Chanel Beauty Taps Diane Kruger
Diane Kruger will be the face of the next Chanel beauty campaign, which will be unveiled later this year. The actress is no stranger to appearing in advertisements for Chanel. She was featured in campaigns for the Allure fragrance and for the Paris-Biarritz bag, which were both photographed by Karl Lagerfeld.
J. Mendel Relocating Madison Avenue Store
After 18 years at the same Madison Avenue address in New York City, J. Mendel will relocate a few blocks north this fall to double its store’s square footage. Gilles Mendel, creative director and CEO of J. Mendel, said, “Since opening our existing boutique in 1995, we’ve introduced ready-to-wear, bridal, handbags, accessories and home furnishings. The new store will significantly increase our retail selling space, allowing us to show a full representation of the brand, and offer our clients an even more elevated level of personal service.”
The new J. Mendel store will have three levels. Accessories, ready-to-wear, and fur will be located on the main floor, with bridal and eveningwear displayed on the upper level. There will also be a separate area for VIP services. J. Mendel’s current location will stay open until the new store is finished.
