New Nail Magazine to Launch
Launching Febuary 19th, Nail It! Magazine, from the publisher of nail magazine NailPro, will focus on trends, products, and care. It will include overall beauty and fashion elements also. Nail It! will be published six times a year, and the magazine will be available in newsstands in addition to retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Walgreens, Target, and CVS. “I’m very excited to share everything I know about nails, salons and products with our readers,” said Stephanie Lavery, editor in chief.
“With nails currently being such a strong classification in the beauty industry, we feel that introducing the first-ever consumer nail magazine will be well received by women of every age,” said Deborah Carver, publisher. “There are so many conversations going on about nails; it’s not just about a bottle of color anymore.…It’s now a major fashion accessory.”
Fendi Teams With Dubai Developer
Fendi has teamed up with Dubai developer DAMAC Properties to conceive the interior design for a 490-foot-high residential tower in Riyadh, and private apartments in DAMAC Heights at the Dubai Marina. The two projects are currently under construction and are set to open in 2015. Fendi will provide interior designs and Fendi Casa furniture on various DAMAC projects in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. DAMAC chairman Hussain Sajwani said the goal is to “take the standards of luxury home living in the Middle East to a new level.”
Fendi chairman and chief executive officer Pietro Beccari called the project an example of the Roman firm’s “three-dimensional approach to making beautiful things.” DAMAC has completed 37 luxury buildings to date.
Alexis Bittar Makes Earrings for Phillip Lim’s Runway Show
Phillip Lim commissioned Alexis Bittar to design a one-of-a-kind pair of earrings that will make its debut at his runway show today. This is also a preview of what to expect from Bittar’s upcoming venture into fine jewelry. The one-of-a-kind chandelier earrings are said to be shoulder-length and comprised of 10-karat gold and oxidized gold, crystals, and tiny pavé drops with a peacock feather motif at the center. “I wanted to stay away from being so architectural. The design of the earring is definitely more feminine feeling, flowy and airy with the Sixties influence,” Bittar said, adding that the inspiration was a “softer Nineties grunge feel with a Sixties bohemian flair.” The $395 earrings will be available on alexisbittar.com in July.
