Karen Margolis’ Missoni Sculptures Revealed
Just yesterday Karen Margolis’s sculptures for the storefront of the M Missoni store in New York’s SoHo neighborhood were revealed. The sculptures were created and inspired by the brand’s resort collection and Margolis spent up to 14 hours a day seven days a week working on them. The series includes seven sculptures that vary in sizes, from paperweight to 7 feet tall. They are hand-dyed in an ombré of Missoni signature hues and spiky copper wires blossom out of the largest pieces like hair, giving the series an organic feel. The series can be seen until Monday, during the pre-ordering period of the resort collection.
Pierre Cardin Opening New Museum
Exciting news for residents and visitors of central Paris. Pierre Cardin is set to open a new museum on November 13. The old northern Paris suburb museum will be transferring part of its exhibits to the new one and then it will close. The new museum will feature more than 200 haute couture designs including pieces from Cardin’s first collection from 1953, his famed Bubble dress, eyewear, jewelry and shoes.
