Chris Evert For Tail Activewear
Tennis Legend Chris Evert has launched a line of tennis and activewear aimed at women over 30. The line is known as Chrissie by Tail and was designed in partnership with Tail Activewear. The collection features about 100 styles and comes in shades of highlighter yellow, powder blue, neon pink and atomic blue. “The other lines available are beautiful, but they’re designed for the 18-year-old body,” said Evert. “I’m designing for myself, but the unique fits and styles will appeal to women of all ages.” Evert incorporated details that have been part of her signature style on the court into the collection including mesh, pleated and ruffle skirts and cap sleeves. The collection ranges from $25 to $129 and is available on tailactivewear.com.
Thakoon for Kohl’s DesigNation Collection
Designer Thakoon Panichgul has collaborated with Kohl’s to design the seventh installment of its DesigNation limited edition collection. DesigNation is intended to inspire customers with designs shaped by some of the world’s most popular destinations, said Nancy Feldman, Kohl’s executive vice president of women’s apparel. Thakoon has designed a line inspired by his recent trip to London to celebrate his brand’s 10th anniversary. He created unusual prints and patterns inspired by the character of London for shirts, sweaters, knit tops, dresses and bottoms,  all under $200. The collection will be available exclusively at Kohl’s and Kolhs.com this fall. Kohls’ DesigNation collection was launched in fall 2012 with the goal of making designer style accessible to women everywhere. Previous designer collaborations have included Narciso Rodriguez, Derek Lam, Catherine Malandrino, Peter Som and Elie Tahari. An upcoming collaboration with Milly by Michelle Smith will launch April 23.
Lilly Pulitzer for Target Overwhelms Website
Target‘s website went down Sunday morning, overwhelmed by shoppers frantically seeking a piece of the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection. The collection went on sale at 5 a.m. Sunday and sold out online within hours. Target made its website inaccessible to customers for about 15 minutes around 3 a.m due to high traffic. Lines started forming as early as 5 a.m. outside Target stores around the country. Some stores sold out entirely within a few minutes said a spokesman for Target. The same spokesman said the collection is limited edition and will not be restocked online or in stores. The 250 piece collection features dresses, shoes, accessories, swim suits and home decor in exclusive floral and tropical prints. The Target version of Lilly Pulitzer’s signature sleeveless, collarless shift is only $38 compared to $300 at most retailers. A number of products from the collection wound up on Ebay, where the prices are significantly marked up. Disappointed customers who missed out on the collection voiced their frustrations on Twitter. The Target spokesman said this is their most talked about designer collaboration to date.
