Thompson Chicago is located at 21 E. Bellevue, at the corner of Rush & Bellevue in Chicago’s famous Gold Coast. In the heart of Rush Street near downtown’s finest dining and nightlife destinations, this top rated hotel is located just steps from Michigan Avenue and boutiques on Oak Street (for the best shopping)! I had the opportunity to stay for a night and become a visitor in my own city, and I think the Thompson Chicago gives a perfect perspective. It is elegant and modern, yet comfortable with a friendly and energetic service staff.
The 247 guest rooms and public spaces were created by award-winning designer Tara Bernerd with an emphasis on texture, bold colors and understated elegance. The residential-style guest rooms feature Sferra linens, oversized terrycloth robes and spa products by REN. State of the art technology is included in all rooms with bedside USB chargers, and each room has its own ISP address and functions as its own hotspot. Also featured is 24-hour room service, complimentary wifi, a 1000-square foot fitness center, freshly roasted coffee & tea in the lobby from Intelligentsia, and complimentary car service to downtown Chicago.
Nico Osteria, the hotel’s Italian Seafood restaurant, was conceptualized by One Off Hospitality-the group behind Chicago’s Blackbird, avec and The Publican and is scheduled to open in December 2013.
