Later in October, Simon Doonan was at Barneys for an event benefiting the Children’s Research Fund of the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He wanted to hear all about Fountain Of 30! His thoughts and advice were precious while he cracked me up at the same time. Read his book The Asylum: True Tales of Madness from a Life in Fashion and you’ll see what I mean.

The year 2015 flew by too quickly but not without some memorable moments along with a few brushes with greatness. Whenever people ask me what I like most about fashion blogging the answer is – when I have the opportunity to meet famous fashion designers, creative directors, actresses and models! Here are some of my highlights from the past year.
Ken Downing revved up the women of Chicago on April 8th with his Spring 2015 Runway Report at Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue. If anyone can get women to get excited about fashion and the latest trends, it’s Ken Downing!
Earlier that same day George Kostiopoulos (we love him!) and gorgeous models Philomena Kwao and Georgina Burke were at the Torrid Chicago Grand Opening.
After wearing his label for so many years, it was an absolute thrill to meet Elie Tahari in April. I feel like I grew up with him. Read my Designer Interview with Elie Tahari at Neiman Marcus Chicago.
In May of 2015 I met renowned fashion critic and video journalist Diane Pernet at a Special Appearance At Gallery Aesthete In Chicago. She was in Chicago to receive the SAIC’s 2015 Legend of Fashion Award at THE WALK, a fashion show gala benefit supporting student scholarships.
I met her before but it was once again a memorable fashion moment Chatting With Cynthia Rowley at Her Summer Soiree In Chicago in June. I’m wore a “vintage” Cynthia Rowley blouse and belt and she remembered the fabric!
I sprinted over to Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue on October 2nd to meet actress Linda Gray! “Sue Ellen” was in town signing her inspiring book The Road to Happiness is Always Under Construction. She was amazingly real and chatted with everyone from 90 year-old women who were shopping to men who stopped dead in their tracks when they saw her! If you want to learn how to age gracefully, read her book!
To top off my “women I admire” moments, I met Cindy Crawford at her Book Tour Stop in Chicago in October. I had the opportunity to sit with her and pick her brain! I am still reeling from the meeting and find myself telling people “Cindy said this” and “Cindy said that” and they actually want to hear about it! I think of (my new friend) Cindy when I apply my blush each morning. Read my One On One With Supermodel Legend Cindy Crawford to find out why!
