The Thing I'm Loving Today: Lancôme 'Progrès' Eye Crème

A friend of mine who just happens to be a great makeup artist (good friends to have) recently told me about the best kept secret when it comes to eye cream – Lancôme ‘Progrès’ Eye Crème. “But it’s not easy to find. You have to know to ask for it and it’s rarely on display,” she told me. So I wondered, if it’s so great, why is it so hard to find? Shouldn’t it be shouted from the rooftops? Or is just me who feels the need to tell everyone about a fabulous beauty or fashion find?
So yesterday I found myself with a little extra time and God forbid I get home one minute early when I have a sitter (please tell me I’m not alone). So I dashed into Bergdorf’s on my way home from the Christian Louboutin sample sale. I immediately walked up to the Lancôme counter and began looking for the eye cream. Of course it was not on display. The beauty consultant behind the counter asked if she could help me and when I told her I was looking for an eye cream I did not see she said, “Progrès?” Uh huh. “I think we have one left.” I said, “Seriously? If it’s so good why is it so hard to find?” I was then informed it’s the best kept beauty secret and is a fabulous product. Now, does this make any sense? Apparently saying the word “Progres” is the secret word and a key to the kingdom. You have to know to ask for it. It turns out this eye cream has been around forever, and while Lancôme has released many eye creams since, they can’t stop making this one because there are so many die-hard fans that would claim mutiny or commit murder if it were discontinued.
So with $59 spent (which is a minor miracle at Bergdorf’s) I headed home. OK, I stopped by the Tom Ford counter to check out the cosmetics, but that’s a story for another day. I called my mother while I was on my way home and told her about this experience and she of course wanted me to tell her how it worked immediately! Anyway, I could not wait to try this ‘amazeballs’ eye cream and hoped it would live up to the hype.
So after I washed my face, etc. I opened the little jar to find a thick white cream. Using just a tiny bit I instantly noticed it was much thicker than any other eye cream I have ever tried before. We are talking Pond’s Cold Cream thick. I have been searching for a thick eye cream and just concluded one this thick didn’t exist. I swear to you, it was love at first use. This morning I woke up to – I kid you not – completely hydrated skin around my eyes! Hallelujah!
Now, I have done you all a massive favor by providing a link to this miracle Lancôme ‘Progrès’ Eye Crème below. You will notice it leads to Nordstrom, because of course…it was not available on Bergdorf’s website! God speed to younger looking eyes! You’re welcome.
