Sassoon Asks: Are You Ready For a New Do And A New You?

Occasionally, holidays, parties or the impending new year makes us ready for a new look. The simplest way to accomplish trying something new is with your hair (I just went for new bangs myself). Sassoon makes it a no-brainer and more importantly an easy decision with a personalized look just for you. It’s not hard to be inspired by Sassoon’s new A/W UTOPIA Collection. The collection draws on the 60-year brand heritage and demonstrates Sassoon’s ultimate high definition hair designs.

2016 Trends That Need To Die Right NOW!

I love a good trend as much as the next gal, but after a certain age I have found they don’t all like me. Therefore, I say you need to be comfortable in your own skin and know what works on you and what does not. Trust me there have been more than a few times I almost left the house wearing something I was not 100% confident in, so I took it off and have never regretted it. Some friends pointed out trends like the return of Dolphin shorts (the ones Chrissie wore on Three Is Company in the 70’s), over 100 coats of nail polish so your nails appear to have multi-colored snails on them (Google it, you’ll vomit) and overalls (which I maintain only look good on the under 10 set) – but I have not personally seen these too much. These following trends I would never even consider. Neither should you.

Why I Love Sassoon Salon & A Giveaway!

Carol and I have been having our hair cut and colored at Sassoon Salons for nearly 11 years! Our relationship with Sassoon began in Chicago so when I moved to NYC in ’07 I simply transitioned seamlessly to their downtown location and Carol still continues to go in Chicago. But, this post is about my experience. Head colorist Hamid Latif has therefore been coloring my hair for nearly 9 years and he is the master and is without a doubt the best I have ever encountered and I have been coloring my hair for a long time. Every 6-8 weeks when I walk in he asks me what I want to do and I always answer, “whatever you think” because I trust him implicitly. Lately we have taken my hair a little blonder – as the greys increase I am heading down that road to platinum and am literally turning into my mother.
